  1. Eng 532-6published at 145 overs

Dom Bess is the new man in and is off the mark with a guided back-foot drive for two.

Fawad Alam looked absolutely over the moon with his first ever Test wicket. A beaming smile.

I think the declaration isn't too far away, you know.

He didn't really play a shot, he just went through the motion. A soft dismissal, but he played so well. He deserves the applause.

It was just a chip back to the bowler. Buttler looks frustrated but what an innings it has been.

    Buttler c & b Fawad (Eng 530-6)

Jos Buttler's fine innings comes to an end as he chips an easy chance back to the part-time bowling of Fawad Alam.

A sloppy way to get out but I'm sure England fans will let him off.

Jos Buttler's 150 came from 307 balls with two sixes and 13 fours. It's the fifth 150 score by an England wicketkeeper.

  6. Eng 530-5published at 144 overs

    Naseem 27-6-109-1

That was Buttler's first boundary since before lunch. But it was there on a plate for him, a full toss from Naseem.

The young Pakistan seamer goes short and Chris Woakes nicely pulls in front of his grille for a single.

This is proving to be a real learning Test for the 17-year-old Naseem.

What a fantastic innings it has been. Buttler has played with great control and good discipline. The way he batted has been remarkable. His balance has been good. He's shown his class.

Right on cue, Jack, Buttler drives down to the mid-off boundary for four and, in doing so, reaches 150.

Jack Allum: Buttler’s batting makes absolutely no sense here. None at all. He is well in. Bowlers tired. Yet he is scoring slower and slower as he goes along. I just don’t understand it given the situation and poor weather on Tuesday.

England have just reined it in a little bit.

  11. Eng 523-5published at 143 overs

    Woakes 28, Buttler 146

A single for Jos Buttler brings up his highest first-class score. Just a couple of matches ago, he admitted he was playing to save his Test career. He's been class.

Bounce and a slight hint of turn for Fawad Alam nearly finds the edge of Chris Woakes' bat. But aside from that, it's all a bit flat out there.

  13. Eng 520-5published at 142 overs

Another change in the bowling as Naseem Shah returns to the attack, replacing Shaheen Afridi. Azhar Ali has continued to rotate his seamers throughout this innings.

They look a tired bunch, though, as Naseem leaks singles with England easily finding the gaps.

I wonder how Pakistan openers Shan Masood and Abid Ali are feeling? Could be a testing time for them this evening.

  16. Eng 516-5published at 141 overs

    Woakes 23, Buttler 143

Asad Shafiq is replaced by the slow left-arm of Fawad Alam.

With most of the fielders out in the deep, Woakes and Buttler are in the single market as they take three from the over.

What we all thinking then? Declaration around 550?

  18. Eng 513-5published at 140 overs

    Buttler 142, Woakes 22

Another single to Chris Woakes brings Jos Buttler on strike. Shaheen goes fuller to Buttler, who is happy to let the ball go by.

Whoever said the England wicketkeeper can only play one way? It really has been a patient and composed innings.

  20. Eng 512-5published at 139.3 overs

Shaheen Afridi bangs it in short to Chris Woakes, and the England number seven top edges a pull shot over the wicketkeeper for four.

Woakes is looking to take everything on.
