Here's the highly-rated teenager Haider Ali at number three for Pakistan...

It looks like he's been done for pace. I think the skid of the pitch has done him.
Fakhar b Moeen 1 (Pak 2-1)
Bowled 'im!
Moeen Ali has not had the best of it to date this summer but gets a wicket with his first ball. Fakhar is tentative and the ball zips through his defences.

Speaking to some of the players yesterday, I got the indication they were quite fatigued, having spent three months here and in lockdown. They will be immensley aware that the crowd at home are ready to tear them to pieces if they didn't come home without at least one win to their name.
Mahmood - beard smartly groomed and a red tube on one arm - finishes off his over nicely. That's a good first over. None of the crash, bang, wallop of the first game - yet.

England's bowling performance in the last game was a bit rusty. They took some good options but didn't quite get them in the right areas.
All of the England bowlers got some tap in game two on Sunday - Mahmood included.
He starts with two accurate deliveries today before Babar tucks one off his hip.

This is a different pitch - about five pitches along from where we were for the first match. It's a long boundary to the left...

There's a slip in! That's always nice to see.
Saqib Mahmood is going to start with the new ball. He has a slip in place.
Babar Azam is on strike.

Moeen is under a lot of pressure. He's a very self-aware player too. I'd like to see a little fire from him - he will definitely have the oppirtunity today.
The players are making their way out to the middle on a lovely Manchester evening.
Alex Hartley
England spinner and World Cup winner
We don't know what England's strongest XI is. I'd like to see Lewis Gregory perform today. The pressure is on for some of these guys as they're playing for a place in the team.

Haider is an intriguing batsman. He's quite a classical batsman - he made his mark in the PSL playing some extraordinary innings in quite difficult circumstances, coming in early against some aggressive bowling. He's shown poise beyond his years. He's someone Pakistan have high hopes for.
England have some seriously good white-ball batsman.
It's because of hot takes like that that you'll stay with us all evening.

There are just a few clouds in the sky, otherwise it is all blue. The sun is bathing the outfield at Old Trafford.
With Pakistan batting first could we instead get a repeat of Sunday's big chase? England will back themselves to knock off anything.
This game is being played on a different pitch and there's a pretty short boundary on one side.
Pakistan landed in the UK way back on 29 June.
They've played some brilliantly entertaining stuff since but are yet to get a win to their name.
Could they change that tonight?
England: Banton, Bairstow, Malan, Morgan (c), Moeen, Billings, Gregory, T Curran, Jordan, Rashid, Mahmood.
Pakistan: Babar (c), Fakhar, Haider, Hafeez, Malik, Shadab, Sarfaraz, Imad, Wahab, Rauf, Shaheen.
England captain Eoin Morgan: "It's a fresh pitch, which looks drier than the first game we played but it still looks good. It's magnificent here, it offers a little bit for the bowlers but it's good for the batsmen with one side of the ground which is a little shorter. We've not made any changes, we might have done if this was our third game but obviously we had the rain in the first game."
Pakistan captain Babar Azam: "We had planned to bowl first but we didn't win the toss so we will look to post a big total."
