I'm fairly certain the saxophone player from the West Indies Tests is back.
Was it me or was that properly enjoyable?
Honours even, I'd say, with Chris Woakes the pick of the bowlers.
There's a World Cup final-esque moment as Babar Azam takes off for a run, changes his mind, and the ball rebounds off his bat as Ollie Pope pings it towards the stumps. There's a cry of "catch!" as Jofra Archer advances, before everyone gets a case of the giggles.
Chris Woakes has been absolutely superb this morning, as he beats Babar Azam with another fine swinging ball.
What an absolute beauty this was.
It'll be Chris Woakes to bowl the final over before lunch.
Babar Azam plays a lovely drive that's halted in its tracks by a crouching James Anderson at cover, before Jofra Archer finds some extra bounce and gets the ball to whistle past the bat.

Shan Masood is important for Pakistan in that he can play that Dom Sibley attritional role. He generally doesn't go chasing the ball. He just waits for the ball to come really close to him. It looks to me that he's worked hard on his technique.

There was a huge appeal but Woakes wasn't sure and Root looked uncertain too. But alarming times for Pakistan.
Shan 27, Babar 1
Four slips in for Chris Woakes as he steams in to Shan Masood. There's a big shout as Woakes raps him on the pad, the ball nipping back as Masood has a bit of a hoick across the line, and Joe Root decides agains the review. It didn't look quite right - a bit high and a bit leg side for my liking.
Ah, it's pitched outside leg stump anyway. As you were.
Chris Woakes: great bowler, great headband.

Mitchell Fraser-Jones: Babar Azam averaging 87 batting at number four for Pakistan. Only seven matches in this position so far, but England beware...
Tidy from Jofra Archer, and Babar Azam shows the full face of the bat as he plays out a maiden over.

It was always going away and behind Dom Sibley. It would have been a blinder.
You could argue that Babar Azam should be included in the 'big four' discussion. He averaged 68 last year in Test cricket and he's scored 143 runs in the two matches he's played in 2020. No Test batsman has a better average than Babar since 2018.
Shan Masood plays another slightly airy drive but there's enough bat behind the ball to beat Dom Sibley at third slip and roll away to the boundary.

Dan: I was never a big fan of Chris Woakes in the Test team but he seems to get better and better each summer. He’s a top-class Test bowler now.
Rachel T: Chris Woakes is making himself absolutely undroppable.

Babar Azam has made four hundreds and a 97 in his past five Tests. Two of those Tests were in Australia. The boy can play.
Jofra Archer sends down a few friendly short balls as Babar Azam settles himself in.

That is a ripper of a delivery. That was so close, there is not much Babar Azam could do with that. This is going to be a fascinating passage of play.
Woakes 5-1-7-1
Here's the star of the show, Babar Azam.
Oh, and that's a pearler from Chris Woakes straight up. Swinging in, squaring Babar up, and it somehow misses the edge of the bat and Babar's off stump. What a welcome to the crease.

That's the virtue of going full to a new batsman. I think Azhar hit it after it struck his front pad.

A beauty of a delivery, just the way it was angled. Looked like it was going to go away and then came back in.
