The curse of the drinks break, maybe. Archer will be pleased about that because he had a low-key game here against the West Indies.

Abid b Archer 16 (Pak 36-1)
Lovely stuff.
Abid Ali had been a touch unsettled by Jofra Archer in his first over and this time he throws a loose drive towards the England bowler. Archer takes advantage of the big gap between bat and pad and sends the bails flying, making the most pleasing of noises in the process.

Since Shan Masood returned to the Pakistan side in 2018, he is averaging 45. His overall career average is 31. So a significant improvement.
Chris Woakes continues on post-drinks and works his way through a very tidy, very Chris Woakes sort of over.
I'm more familiar with the band than I am with the species of bird, I'm afraid, Ryan...

Mark Wood is wearing a sunhat over his England cap and he's making it look weirdly fashionable.
I'll have a brew, if anyone's offering.
Shan Masood and Abid Ali do a bit of dropping and running to start Jofra Archer's first over, before Abid ends up on his backside as he ducks underneath a friendly 85mph bouncer. That zipped out of nowhere.

Archer is a great find for English cricket. He's a great talent who will only get better and better with the more cricket he plays.

That was an incredible passing shower. For one delivery, it belted down - the kind you can hear bouncing off the roof. Then, as quick as it arrived, it was gone.
The fleeting rain shower has passed by, and Shan Masood plays out a Chris Woakes maiden to celebrate.

Hang on, there's a bit of rain. It's very light at the moment but the ground staff are getting ready.
Younis Khan, who is Pakistan's batting coach, is drinking what looks like an iced coffee out of a pint glass, and I have a huge amount of time for that.
There's a bit of drizzle in the air...

There's stuff happening out there. It's certainly challenging conditions but so far the Pakistan batsmen are up for the challenge.
Lovely from Stuart Broad once again, full, bringing Abid Ali forward, and an inside edge saves Abid from a full-blooded Broad lbw appeal.
A bouncer now, Abid kneeling and whipping his head out of the way, before the same batsman flaps a short delivery awkwardly around the corner.

With this wobble seam, you don't know which way the ball is going. That's why I rate Chris Woakes highly, he has the ability to move it both ways.
A nod of appreciation from Shan Masood as Chris Woakes slides a lovely delivery past the outside edge of his bat.
We might be in for a double change, actually. I've just seen Jofra Archer loosening up.
A change - James Anderson is off and Chris Woakes is on.
