    They're 208-2 and 114 runs adrift of Lancashire's first-innings total.

    Essex pick up a first batting point and pass 200 as Adam Wheater (36 not out) and Ryan ten Doeschate (35 not out) continue their profitable sixth-wicket partnership.

    They've added 75 so far after coming together at a perilous 144-5 yesterday evening.

    Lees is not out on 68 and they'll need to keep this up if they are to set the visitors a testing total chase in their second innings.

    It's a handy catch from Tim Bresnan and the visitors are 27-1 - trailing by 200 runs - with Ricardo Vasconcelos next in.

    One Somerset batsman succeeds where another one failed, by moving on from yesterday's score to reach a half-century.

    Tom Abell saw James Hildreth fall with the first ball of the day but has got to 52 off 90 balls at Taunton.

    Somerset are already 308 runs clear against Glamorgan and will look to declare at some point to give them ample time to bowl out their opponents for victory.

    Derbyshire have Sam Connors in their attack after his three wickets in the final session yesterday - they need more breakthroughs as they're already 188 runs behind and Notts are looking like setting them a big target.

    There was a controversial moment yesterday at New Road between Leicestershire and Lancashire as five penalty runs were awarded to Lancashire.

    Leicestershire bowler Dieter Klein was penalised for throwing the ball back at Danny Lamb.
