    Yorkshire 98-4 v Lancashire

Adam Lyth and Jonathan Tattersall resume batting for Yorkshire. There are 30 overs left in the day. Can we finally get a decent stretch of play in this Roses match?!

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Evans b Milnes 18 (Surrey 134-5 v Kent 342)

    Surrey are five down!

Laurie Evans offers no shot to a ball that bends in from Matt Milnes and is bowled.

Ben Foakes is on 45 at the other end.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Daryl Mitchellpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Worcs 95-0 v Warwickshire 355-9d

The latest half-century in the wonderful 210-match career of Daryl Mitchell.

The 90th time he's gone past fifty.

A little fortune involved here with a loose drive off Craig Miles that he edged wide of the slips for four.

But a deliberate guide to third man against Olly Hannon-Dalby brings a seventh four and the milestone in 103 balls.

  4. Arundel restart at 17:00 BSTpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

  5. Inspection at 16:45 BSTpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Northamptonshire 245-4 v Glamorgan 259

The 16:15 inspection at Northampton has been taken.

And the umpires are going to look again in 30 minutes.

But darker clouds are moving in.

  6. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Surrey 121-4 v Kent 342

One ground we do have some cricket being played at the moment is at The Oval.

Surrey wicketkeeper Ben Foakes moves into the 40s with back-to-back boundaries off Nathan Gilchrist - the first a nice punch down the ground, the second a streaky cut through point.

  7. Inspection at 17:00 BSTpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Durham 337-9 v Derbyshire

They're going to have a look at Chester-le-Street in about 40 minutes... a lot of rain has fallen, but the rain has abated for now.

  8. Headingley restart at 16:45 BSTpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Yorkshire 98-4 v Lancashire

We have some news from the Roses game... they're going to resume in just under 30 minutes.

They haven't said how many overs remain tonight - but I'm going to hazard a guess at about 30.

  9. 50 runs

50 for Tom Abellpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Somerset 237 and 105-1 v Gloucestershire 76

    Half-century for the Somerset captain.

He made a hundred in similar circumstances against Glamorgan in the first game of the season and more runs here to follow his 41 at Edgbaston last week.

The lead is over 250 now too and Somerset looking to bat the opposition out of the game.

  10. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Hants v Essex 83-0 - rain delay

Hampshire opener Joe Weatherley has found a way of entertaining himself while they wait to get back on at Arundel. Still no news on a resumption time.

  11. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Middlesex 176-7 v Sussex 293

The wet stuff has now arrived at Radlett so they won't be resuming straight after tea. Are you keeping up?

  12. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Leics 222 v Notts 161-0

Back out in Leicester... 36 overs remain tonight. I'll be shocked if they get all those in.

  13. Play to resume at 16:10 BSTpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Leics v Notts 161-0

That was a brief, albeit heavy shower at Grace Road. Thankfully no damage has been done and they'll get under way again in five minutes.

  14. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Leics 222 v Notts 161-0

Oh, it's raining again at Grace Road. In fact, it's absolutely pelting it down.

    Off they go.

  15. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Surrey 101-4 v Kent 342

Ben Foakes has just steadied things a little for Surrey as they head for tea.

The England wicketkeeper has made a patient 29 from 56 balls.

Still a huge amount of work to do in the evening session for Foakes and the Surrey lower order mind.

  16. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Somerset 237 and 93-1 v Gloucestershire 76

    An almost-perfect afternoon for Somerset.

They lost Eddie Byrom cheaply but have since built very nicely through Tom Abell and Tom Lammonby in a second-wicket stand of 81 - the highest partnership of the match so far.

They have the Glosters by the throat.

  17. Tea at Radlettpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Middlesex 176-7 v Sussex 293

Middlesex go to tea still trailing by 117 with three wickets in hand.

But 18-year-old debutant Blake Cullen has shown plenty of courage - he has 24 from 87 balls and has been at the crease for just shy of two hours.

  18. Tea at New Roadpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Worcs 60-0 v Warwickshire 355-9d

    A good session for Worcestershire.

You can't build a big total without a platform and that's what Daryl Mitchell and Jake Libby have set about providing.

Both men have enjoyed good form in the three games so far.

Mitchell has pulled Tim Bresnan and driven Alex Thomson's offspin for boundaries.

Libby has three fours of his own including his own pull off Bresnan and two leg side flicks.

  19. Covers coming off at Headingleypublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Yorkshire 98-4 v Lancashire

It's stopped raining in Leeds, they're dragging the covers off and the umpires will have a look in about 15 minutes from now.

It appears all the heaviest showers have blown through. Fingers crossed for some positive news.

    Leics 222 v Notts 159-0

Back under way at Grace Road with Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater resuming their innings for Notts.

Their opening stand is worth 159.
