  1. And that's your lot!

    Lancs

So that's the conclusion of the Bob Willis Trophy group stage.

While it may not have been everyone's cup of tea, it's certainly provided some talking points over the past five weeks or so and for the future of the first-class domestic game it seems.

As mentioned, Essex and Somerset now have the Lord's final to look forward to later this month.

If you've missed any of the action from today - head to the Counties page of the BBC Sport website and app for full reports and a round-up of the day's major events.

From the pair of us and all of the team across the BBC Sport website and BBC local radio, a huge thank you for following our coverage.

We'll see you again next time!

  2. The Blast is back!

    Chris Wood

You don't have to wait that long though for your next fix of county cricket on the BBC.

The T20 Blast group stage returns from Thursday with action from the Ageas Bowl as Hampshire host Sussex.

They'll be ball-by-ball commentary available on the BBC Sport website and app from around 18:15 BST.

After that, there is a flurry of fixtures still to be played before the group stage concludes on Sunday 20 September.

  3. To Lord's!

Essex v Somerset (Wednesday 23 September - Sunday 27 September)

    Somerset

So, our next red-ball county cricket will come from HQ.

Essex and Somerset will face each other in the inaugural Bob Willis Trophy final.

It's a five-day game starting in a fortnight and fingers crossed everything will be able to proceed as planned on all fronts.

We'll have full coverage of that match for you across BBC Sport with more specific details nearer the time.

  6. Post update

Well, that was a nervy and exciting way to finish it all off.

What's not to like about a side fighting it out in the lengthening shadows to get a draw?

Nice moment as well there at the end at Sophia Gardens as the players and umpires hang back to allow Ian Bell to walk off first and take one final ovation in first-class cricket.

That's all our matches done, stay tuned and we'll show you how it finished up elsewhere.
