Twenty minutes until the tea break.

We've still got three games going on with Lancashire and Warwickshire on top against Derbyshire and Glamorgan. Nottinghamshire's match with Durham looks to be heading for a draw.

Simon Hutchins: The better solution to the problem of the North team missing out, would have been for the group winner with the most points to go straight through to the final and the other two to play off.

Last autumn was exceptional for rain, but with the Final finishing on 1 October, it means that it could easily be disrupted by bad weather or light.

That's the format they've used for the 50-over One-Day Cup previously, which I like.

The other thing with this time of year you also have to consider is the early-morning dew. Plays into as well.

But despite that, the T20 Blast finals are still taking place on 3 October.

Stuart Fraser: I think the only plausible way you could have wedged semi-finals into this season would be to play the final in the UAE (not now the IPL's there) or the West Indies or somewhere...this wasn't a great tournament, but about as good as we could get.

Not sure many would agree it's not been a great tournament.

There was some talk back in the Spring of moving matches overseas but lots has changed since then of course.

Tom Hartley traps Anuj Dal leg before.

Harvey Hosein (2*) is joined at the crease by Mattie McKiernan.

These two put on 102 together in the first innings, Derbyshire need almost triple that now.

A great performance from Somerset. So much is said about their bowling attack but youngster Tom Lammonby scored a sensational century yesterday. They really are the complete package aren't they?

  11. And a fifth Derbyshire wicket falls!published at 14:22 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

    Derbyshire (195 & 122-5) need 259 more runs to beat Lancashire (219 & 356-6 dec)

Looks like we're on for a Somerset-Essex final now - put your calculators and technical committees away!

Derbyshire's fifth wicket falls moments after the fourth as Fynn Hudson-Prentice is caught at first slip by Keaton Jennings off Tom Hartley for just a single.

Somerset beat Worcestershire by 60 runspublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 9 September 2020

Cox c Davies b Davey 32 (Worcestershire 184 all out)

It's all over! Somerset will meet Essex in the final!

Ben Cox is caught behind off the bowling of Josh Davey and that wraps up a super win for the visitors.

Essex and Somerset have been the best two sides on the county circuit these last few years. They will meet at Lord's at the end of the month.

Commiserations to Worcestershire though. Ben Cox and Joe Leach gave them a scare an hour ago.

Dillon Pennington swings and misses. It hits his pad and the finger goes up.

Stuart Fraser: The problem with the way the Bob Willis Trophy chose who went into the final wasn't that it was going to leave one group out - it was that it was almost inevitably going to be the North Group winners.

The North just loses more cricket to rain, so fewer batting points.

You say that, but Essex look set to reach the final having only picked up six batting points to Yorkshire's 11.

Worcestershire are all over the place at the moment.

Derbyshire can still technically go through to the final but it requires a Worcestershire win and an unlikely victory over Lancashire.

Opener Luis Reece has just brought up his half century and his side have now past 100.

But there's nowhere near enough time left in the day for Derbyshire to add another 277 runs to win this one.

Joe Leach never looked comfortable after the bowling changes and Brooks traps him leg before.

Somerset can smell a spot in the final now. Partnership broken!
