  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.5 overs

    Overton c Moores b Christian 0 (Surrey 115-4)

Two in three balls for Dan Christian as Jamie Overton flashes at his second ball faced and keeper Tom Moores flies through the air to take a superb one-handed catch. Magnificent!

  2. 'Just what Notts needed'published at 20:20 British Summer Time 4 October 2020

    Ian Bell
Former England batsman on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It was an excellent knock from Laurie Evans.

It's just what Nottinghamshire needed, if they can just get Jason Roy out now.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.3 overs

    Evans c Duckett b Christian 43 (Surrey 114-3)

It's Dan Christian again and Jason Roy clips off his toes for two before taking one to mid-on as the Notts skipper again angles the ball into his pads.

Christian digs in a slower ball at Laurie Evans and he is gone - caught at mid-wicket by Ben Duckett.

Roy and Evans put on 90 for the third wicket.

  4. Surrey 111-2published at 13th over

    Roy 60, Evans 43

Laurie Evans goes up and over backward point from Imad Wasim's first delivery and Surrey pick up three runs.

It's a good over for Notts, though, as Surrey are unable to find the boundary and have to settle for ones and twos.

    Three more to go.

  5. 'The wicket is playing better'published at 20:15 British Summer Time 4 October 2020

    Steven Finn
England bowler on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

The wicket is playing a lot better, you see a lot more drying of the ball.

    A dew factor out there.

  6. 6 runs

    Surrey 103-2published at 12th over

    Roy 59, Evans 37

Samit Patel starts his last over and Laurie Evans crashes it away over mid-wicket for his second six.

A single to Roy takes Surrey's total into three figures and Notts could really do with getting rid of one or both of these batsmen with four overs of the innings remaining.

Patel's four overs bring him figures of 1-25. Not bad at all.

  7. Surrey 92-2published at 11th over

    Roy 58, Evans 27

An off-drive from Jason Roy speeds towards the boundary, but a sliding save by Jake Ball keeps him to two.

The next delivery is shorter and Roy flat-bats it powerfully through mid-wicket for four.

Five overs to go - Surrey will want another 50 if possible.

  8. 'Jason Roy looks in the mood'published at 20:07 British Summer Time 4 October 2020

    Steven Finn
England bowler on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Jason Roy is such a good player, having got used to the pace of the wicket, understanding the scoring areas and the places where he can take risks.

He looks like he's in the mood.

  9. 50 runs

for Jason Roypublished at 10.3 overs

    Surrey 83-2 v Notts Outlaws

A dab to third man for one run and there is a 36-ball half-century for Jason Roy.

It's his third in the T20 Blast this season.

  10. Surrey 80-2published at 10th over

    Roy 48, Evans 25

A single to Laurie Evans brings up a 50 partnership with Jason Roy.

But it's a decent over by Matt Carter until the last delivery, which Evans sweeps behind square for four.

  11. 6 runs

    Surrey 69-2published at 9th over

    Roy 42, Evans 20

Imad Wasim drops short and Jason Roy pulls away for an easy four.

And there's the first maximum of the final as Laurie Evans gets just enough bat on it to clear the fielder at long-on.

Surrey's run-rate is 7.67 but they'll want to lift it higher than that.

  12. Surrey 56-2published at 8th over

    Roy 36, Evans 13

Steven Mullaney is the new bowler for Notts and Laurie Evans goes down on one knee to clatter the ball away to extra cover for four.

The Surrey 50 comes up as Roy follows suit by carving a wide one away. Less aesthetically pleasing, but the result is the same.

These two are starting to look dangerous as we reach the half-way point of the Surrey innings.

  13. Surrey 43-2published at 7th over

    Roy 28, Evans 8

Ouch. Jason Roy smashes the ball back past Samit Patel for four, but the next one hits the Notts bowler full on the knee and he takes one.

After a brief hold-up, Patel resumes and Evans pulls him away to the mid-wicket boundary. Pain added to pain.

  14. Surrey 33-2published at 6th over

    Roy 23, Evans 3

New batsman Laurie Evans has twice been on the winning side in a T20 final - making 53 for Birmingham Bears in 2014 and 52 for Sussex Sharks two years ago.

Jason Roy powers the ball away behind square off Matt Carter for four at the start of a new over and after helping himself to a single, Evans comes onto a strike and is immediately off the mark as they rotate the strike.

  15. 'That could be a key wicket'published at 19:46 British Summer Time 4 October 2020

    Alex Hartley
England spinner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

That could be a key wicket for Notts, especially if we see the rain - the ground staff are ready with the covers.

It's a good catch by Dan Christian.

Surrey are struggling to find that boundary.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.5 overs

    Jacks c Christian b Ball 3 (Surrey 24-2)

Jason Roy doesn't look to have his A game present at the moment, and he is fortunate to see the ball drop into a gap as he flips Jack Ball into the leg-side.

After Will Jacks scores his first run, Ball is unhappy with the landing area for his back foot and a couple of handfuls of sand are brought out.

Jacks tries to pull and a top edge climbs into the night sky but behind the Notts fielder at deep backward square and he takes two.

He's a lucky lad, or perhaps not - another miscue from the next delivery falls into the safe hands of Dan Christian at mid-off for his second catch.

  17. 'Amla was getting frustrated'published at 19:41 British Summer Time 4 October 2020

    Alex Hartley
England spinner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

You could sense that something was happening, Hashim Amla was getting frustrated with himself, he's gone for that shot over mid-off, it would have had to have been a brilliant connection but he's spooning the ball into the air for a simple catch for Dan Christian.

  18. Surrey 19-1published at 4th over

    Roy 15, Jacks 0

Will Jacks is the new Surrey batsman and after Jason Roy picks up a single, he plays a stylish stroke to his first delivery. Doesn't bring him a run, though.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.3 overs

    Amla c Christian b Patel 3 (Surrey 18-1)

Another let-off for Surrey as Samit Patel spins one past the edge of Hashim Amla's bat, but Tom Moores snatches at the ball and fails to complete the stumping.

It's not a costly one, though, as Amla tries to go aerial and lofts an easy catch to Dan Christian.

  20. Surrey 16-0published at 3rd over

    Roy 14, Amla 1

It's ugly, but it's effective as Jason Roy smears Imad Wasim down the ground for four past mid-off.

The next stroke is better, hammered into a gap in the covers off the back foot for another boundary.

    Good over for Surrey.
