Perera says his hero is Sanath Jayasuriya. There's a bit of Jayasuriya abut him.
Mark Wood is consistently above 90mph at the moment. Has he ever been fitter?
Wow! That is an absolute beauty. A little bit of seam movement beats Kusal Perera, who is looking to defend, and it goes just over the top of the stumps.
Nobody can quite believe that has not hit the stumps. Jonny Bairstow looks up at the big screen to watch it again.
Here's that beautiful Chris Woakes delivery that saw the back of Dasun Shanaka.

Irrespective of there being a football match to watch later, I wonder what Morgan's theory is. It's unfortunate that SL isn't as strong as England, but I fail to see what England will gain or learn by bowling first and chasing a mediocre target. Why not bat first and give some of our 2nd string batsmen a go up the order? As proved in the last World Cup, they didn't win that many games chasing and had to change tactics.

There's a little bit of movement there for Sam Curran too.
He catches Wanindu Hasaranga's outside edge, but it flies past slip, and he gets off the mark, off his 12th delivery, with a couple down to third.
That's a better shot. A lovely pushed drive brings him his first boundary.

Sri Lanka were struggling to start with and really haven’t been helped by the bio-secure protocol breach by three key members of their batting line-up. Today, Dasun Shanaka came and went at four, a position he has only previously batted once. Hasaranga is their number five, having batted seven or eight in all of his previous ODI innings.
A mess.
Double change for England as Sam Curran replaces fellow left-arm David Willey.
Mark Wood is falling over again. He must be constantly covered in bruises and scrapes.
Kusal Perera keeps the strike with a single down to fine leg.
Mark Wood is going straight round the wicket to Kusal Perera, probably with the intention of limiting the amount of width on offer.
Perera slashes the first ball fine for four more runs.
Wood has no slip at the moment. Will that change?
Local boy Mark Wood is into the attack. He gets a big cheer.

Chris Ward: Some of the crowd probably starting to look up some nice pubs for a late lunch in Chester-le-Street.
David Willey is on the hunt here. He's getting plenty of movement, and he's slightly unfortunate as Wanindu Hasaranga edges onto his pads.
That's the end of the powerplay. England have won that.
Kusal Perera is playing with fire here. He tries another vicious cut over point, and it bounces a couple of yards in front of Sam Billings at third man. Billings has been moved down there, it was Adil Rashid. England see that as a catching option.
David Willey then wants England to review an lbw shout against Wanindu Hasaranga, but Jonny Bairstow tells Eoin Morgan it was sliding down and they decide against the review. Wise choice.

Luke Barraclough: Chris Woakes. Boy is on it this morning
Here are the first two wickets to fall...
Wanindu Hasaranga is the new batter for the tourists. He's played 19 ODIs and he's batted at seven and eight.
He's in at five today, with the changes that Sri Lanka have had to make after sending three players home for breaching bio-secure protocols.
They are seriously short of batters in this team.

That was a beauty. It's classic Chris Woakes. Angled in, hits the seam and shapes away. I'm worried for Sri Lanka.
Shanaka c Bairstow b Woakes 1 (SL 46-3)
Sri Lanka are in all sorts of trouble.
It's beautiful bowling from Chris Woakes to be fair. A lovely bit of seam presentation, and it moves away after hitting the seam, and feathers the edge of Dasun Shanaka and Jonny Bairstow takes a simple catch.
A five-course meal on a Tuesday!?!
That's elaborate, Bez.

The way this ODI is heading and wickets falling quickly, not saying it's going to be over early but I think you'll probably have time to prepare a 5 course meal before the footy let alone a BBQ?!
