Summary

  • Four wickets for Tom Curran, two each for Woakes & Willey

  • England win series 2-0

  1. SL 121-7published at 30 overs

Binura Fernando is the new batter and he threads his first ball through cover for four.

I've just noticed that there are four players with the surname Fernando in this side.

Four Fernandos, Sri Lanka? Four?! That's insane.

That is a ridiculous catch. It was going at some speed and dying. Bairstow had to take it fractionally behind himself and take it low.

  3. wicket

    SL 116-7published at 29.2 overs

    Karunaratne c Bairstow b T Curran 11

What a catch! Tom Curran finds the outside edge and Jonny Bairstow leaps full stretch to his right to snaffle it one-handed.

That's Tom Curran's third wicket and he brings out his unusual aeroplane kind of celebration. I'm not sure about that one.

Chris Woakes' series figures are 20-8-46-6. It's the most maidens in a one-day series by an England bowler since James Anderson in 2007.

  5. SL 115-6published at 29 overs

Sri Lanka steal a few singles from Rashid's over. The last ball bounces a bit awkwardly and pops up but nowhere near a fielder.

Can we have some more sixes please?

There have been good signs for Sri Lanka, players like Hasaranga and Shanaka have done OK - they are not far away. It's about three of them doing it at the same time, rather than just one of them doing it on his own. I'm not sure how you crack that, to be honest.

  7. SL 112-6published at 28 overs

    Karunaratne 9, Shanaka 23

Chris Woakes completes his 10 over spell and has figures of 2-28.

The crowd provides him with a big cheer and applause - England fans because of his efforts and Sri Lanka fans because he has no more left to bowl.

I wonder if these two will try and get after Adil Rashid?

  10. SL 110-6published at 27 overs

And that six was the only runs to come from that over as the last three balls are comfortably blocked.

  11. 6 runs

    SL 110-6published at 26.3 overs

The pace bowlers have done so much damage this series I actually forgot Adil Rashid was playing.

Anyway, here he is, and is welcomed into the attack by a straight six from Shanaka.

England have earned it, of course, but it's such a luxury to be bowling with three slips in after 26 overs.

  13. SL 102-6published at 26 overs

    Karunaratne 7, Shanaka 11

A boundary?! What is this sorcery?

Chris Woakes strays on to Karunaratne's leg stump and it's whipped over midwicket for a one bounce four to bring up Sri Lanka's hundred.

Thanks, Callum. It really has been ruthless from England so far. Karunaratne and Shanaka are 'digging in' for Sri Lanka since the last wicket, that of Wanindu Hasaranga.

  16. SL 95-6published at 25 overs

Three singles from David Willey's seventh over.

I'm going to hand you over to Ffion Wynne, who will take you through the remainder of the Sri Lanka innings. However long that may last.

I’ve just met a steward who took great pleasure in telling me he shares a name with a 90s England batter.

  19. SL 92-6published at 24 overs

Just a single from Chris Woakes' eighth over, coming off a leading edge into the covers.

Will Eoin Morgan save his final two overs? Or just keep going?
