Lewis Gregory and Brydon Carse then put on 69 on the eighth wicket - an England record against Pakistan - to help steer the hosts up towards a reasonable total.

Gregory was out for 40, when he couldn't quite get on top of a pull shot from Haris Rauf.

James Vince scored more than Ben Stokes today, yes. But, when do we look at one score in isolation?

One half-century doesn't mean that Vince is all of a sudden an international batter, Jasper.

It is the continued nature of starts, and out, that irks people when it comes to Vince.

Catching up & saw Vince hit a 50 then saw a comment posted about being disappointed in him. He got more than Stokes, our best player! The guy literally cannot do anything right.

However, 118-2 became 134-4 and then 160-7 as England lost five wickets for 42 runs in 10.1 overs.

The final three wickets in that collapse fell for just four runs in 2.2 overs.

From there Phil Salt - who made his maiden ODI half century, in his second game - and James Vince counterattacked to lead England to 118-2.

Pakistan started well, reducing England to 21-2 with Dawid Malan caught at slip off Hassan Ali, before Shaheen Afridi produced a brilliant inswinging yorker to bowl Zak Crawley.

There are kids playing small side-side games on the outfield at the interval. After all that has happened in the last year, it's lovely to see.

Pakistan's Hasan Ali, who took 5-51, on Sky Sports: "The conditions were suitable for the pacers, so the plan was very simple, we just wanted to bowl our best balls. The early wickets were a good start.

"We all know Ben Stoke is a good player, and can change the game, and we know his wicket was a big one. I'm happy to get it today.

"The injuries have been tough. I was away for international cricket for 20 months, and I did a lot of hard work to come back. I was in good rhythm when I came back, because of the work I'd done in domestic cricket. I'm happy to be performing for my country."

    What a yo-yo innings.

England recovered well from 21-2, but a middle-order collapse has left them slightly below par.

You can't get the 300-plus scores at Lord's, so this will no doubt be challenging, but Pakistan will see themselves as slightly favourites.

It is a five-for for Hassan Ali and he celebrates by punching the air. That last wicket came a little later than Pakistan wanted but Hassan has put in a fine performance.

    Hassan Ali has five!

Saqib Mahmood decides it was time to attack, and flicks straight down the throat of Haris Rauf at deep square leg.

The Pakistan quick has been fantastic, and he celebrates passionately, and then gets down on the pitch and kisses the wicket. He's up on the Lord's honours board too.

He gets a telling off from umpire Alex Wharf for his celebration though.

Pakistan will need 248 to win and level the three-match series at 1-1.

Matt Parkinson moves to outside leg stump and drives a shorter ball into the covers for a single.

That drop has seen England add 12 more runs. Costly.

Saqib Mahmood takes a single down to long on.

Five runs from the over, and you know what, England will take that at this stage.

Matt Parkinson picks up a boundary, with a rather fortunate inside edge past leg stump and down to fine leg.

He then digs out the final ball.

Hassan Ali can't quite believe he hasn't got his fifth wicket in that over.
