It looked like Brydon Carse had taken it on the rebound but it seemed to bounce out of his hands as he hit the deck.
Brydon Carse almost takes a stunner off the bowling of Matt Parkinson. Babar Azam advances down the wicket to negate the pitch of the ball and pulls it powerfully to mid-wicket, Carse held on but then spills it as he falls to the ground.

The headlines will go to Babar but the intent from Mohammad Rizwan has really helped this partnership and allow Babar to kick on.
Having found the boundary, Pakistan take six more from Overton's over. It really is a case of hit the bad balls and work the good ones.

Babar Azam has played the pull shot so beautifully today.
I'm running out of superlatives for Babar Azam.
Craig Overton is beautifully pulled through mid-wicket for four. It was a tad short but, my word, Babar in this form is a treat to watch.

This game has a very different complexion than the first two, and England look as if they're going to be tested for the first time in a while.

Matt Parkinson comes in. Pakistan take the ones and twos off the good balls before Babar Azam, drills the leg-spinner through cover for four.
Up until the last delivery, it was a fairly decent over for England at this stage in the game. Eleven from it.

In the first 10 overs of this game there were 49 dot balls. Then between overs 31-40, there were only 12.

Ian Bell has just made a very good point off air at the back of the TMS box about what Pakistan picking an unchanged team for this game showed. They have been convincingly in the two games so far by England's B team and it would have been easy to panic and make eight changes. Instead they remained calm, stuck with the team they knew to be their best XI and it seems to be working.
Craig Overton completes his eighth over, he's gone for 43 runs.
England desperately needing a wicket to break this pair up.
A glance down to the fine-leg boundary brings up Mohammad Rizwan's half-century.
It's come from 41 balls and he's really played his part in this partnership.
Rizwan 47, Babar 114
Another four! We can't fault Saqib Mahmood for much in this series but he bowls in the slow and Babar clubs him to the long-on boundary.

I think Pakistan have got to aim for 300-310 here.
Mohammad Rizwan pierces the field as he pulls Saqib Mahmood.
Not timed particularly well but he found the gap. Four more to Pakistan.

England have tried a lot of short balls at Rizwan but he's been able to play them all with plenty of time and hasn't seem threatened by it.
For all his power and timing, Babar Azam is just as effective with soft hands as he delicately dabs Craig Overton down to third man.
Babar pulls away as the bowler runs in, seeming distracted by the reflection coming off the umpire's watch.
I'm no lip reader but I'm pretty sure Stokes asks the umpire: "What was that? Eh? Watch? Oh, OK."
This Pakistan pair are rapid between the wicket. Mohammad Rizwan runs back for two, dives to make ground and in doing so seems to have taken a little knock as his head hit the turf.
Physio comes on but, thankfully, he's good to carry on.
On we go.
