Bairstow came across the ball. With a hint of spin, he sliced it. These are key wickets.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.5 overs

    Bairstow c Fakhar b Shadab (Eng 153-5)

    Done by the spin.

Shadab Khan had started to find a bit more bite off the surface in this over and this one turns just enough for Jonny Bairstow to miscue his drive up in the air.

Fakhar Zaman has plenty of time to come in from long-off and pouch it.

    Key strike for Pakistan.

Liam Livingstone makes my first-choice England team. He offers off-spin and leg-spin and he's a really good fielder.

  5. Eng 150-4published at 14 overs

    Livingstone 26, Bairstow 11

Jonny Bairstow gives it a big heave but can't find the fence, settling for a well-run two.

That's the 150 up for England. Six overs to go. Carnage to come? Certainly if these two stay in.

  6. Eng 148-4published at 13.5 overs

Oh no. Hasnain sends down a beamer and Bairstow does brilliantly to flick his bat round his shoulder and connect, the ball racing away for four.

That adds five to England's total and a free hit next. Pakistan a bit ragged with the ball.

  7. Eng 143-4published at 13.5 overs

Welcome to the show, Jonny Bairstow. Short and wide and battered through point for four.

    James Anderson
    England bowler on BBC One

Bairstow will be disappointed to be batting at six on his home ground. He likes to put on a show when he comes back to Headingley.

  9. Eng 138-4published at 13.3 overs

In comes Jonny Bairstow and he's off the mark with a tap into the off side.

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

It was there to hit, he's gone to smoke it over extra cover, but it has gone straight to Babar Azam. Babar is looking at his hands - that one hurt. A brilliant innings from Jos Buttler but you feel he's left a few out there.

That was in the slot. He'll be disappointed with that. He needed more elevation on it.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.2 overs

    Buttler c Babar b Hasnain 59 (Eng 137-4)

    Captain picks out captain.

Jos Buttler tries to batter it over mid-off but doesn't get the launch angle quite right.

He still absolutely belts it but it's straight at Babar Azam, who judges it well and snaffles the chance.

    Big wicket for Pakistan.

    Azhar Mahmood
Former Pakistan all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

What a shot that was. On the back foot, hitting over extra cover.

    James Anderson
    England bowler on BBC One

That's a sensational shot. I can't tell you how hard that is to play.

  15. 6 runs

    Eng 136-3published at 13 overs

Jos Buttler is certainly up for that competition. Imad Wasim drops short and Buttler hits him off the back foot over deep extra cover for a massive six.

    Off the back foot! Ridiculous.

Livingstone is putting on a display.

    Michael Vaughan

There's a nice chippy out the back there. That might have landed in the batter.

  18. 6 runs

    Eng 127-3published at 12.1 overs

This could turn into a who can hit the bigger six competition between Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler.

Livingstone shuffles down, right in the slot and banjaxes over long-off into the stands.

    Maybe even over the stands.

  19. Eng 121-3published at 12 overs

Jos Buttler certainly can play that reverse sweep and has the same field to potentially exploit.

But it's a better finish from Shadab, two singles to finish the over. Expensive though - 11 from it.
