I have to say I find these passages of play the least entertaining in Test cricket.
Jonny Bairstow, wearing some rather grubby-looking socks, has his feet perched on the white railings of England's balcony in the Lord's pavilion. His body language hints he's not expecting much of a gear change from Joe Root here. Possibly Mark Wood will try to support him, and they will eke out ones and twos.

It is a tricky decision for Joe Root to navigate the rest of this innings. Root isn't known for his big hitting though.
Mark Wood is definitely capable. It could affect Root's fluency too if he doesn't take the runs on offer.
