Jimmy Anderson's figures are 12-5-15-0.
His economy rate has been extraordinary in the latter part of his Test career. In the first 50-odd Tests of his career he went for about 3.5 runs an over. Since the start of the 2016 summer he has gone at 2.37 in 51 Tests, at an average of 20.5.
Only Kyle Jamieson of New Zealand has a better economy rate in that time.
Do we class this as expansive strokeplay? Cheteshwar Pujara drives a half volley from James Anderson between extra cover and mid-off for a single.

I could see Haseeb Hameed in the nets from my hotel room this morning. It was 09:30 BST and he was there with Paul Collingwood and Graham Thorpe, all padded up.
His feet were moving very differently to yesterday. I'd back him in the second innings.
Cheteshwar Pujara works Mark Wood off his legs and the ball richocoets off short leg and the pair scamper single. Wood draws an edge off Ajinkya Rahane's bat with one that swings ever so slightly, but it dribbles away along the turf to point.

Peter John Watson: 3017: Earth is a nuclear wasteland. Roaches scuttle on scorched relics. Cheteshwar Pujara takes guard and leaves a ball outside off from Jimmy Anderson.

There's a little bit of last-day-and-playing-for-a-draw feel about this partnership. They're trying to wear the bowlers down.

That stroke is better - he was playing the line of his off stump and the bat was close to his body.
James Anderson beats Cheteshwar Pujara's bat with the third ball of his next over. A beauty of a delivery. The India batsman holds the pose, almost in defiance of Anderson.

There have been so many edges in this Test match that haven't carried. You've got Wood bowling at 90mph...
We don't condone pranksters like Jarvo, or anyone else, invading the pitch and disrupting the game for everyone of course.
Meanwhile, Mark Wood draws an edge from the bat of Cheteshwar Pujara but it falls just short of the slip cordon. Pujara played with very soft hands, so it was never going to carry.

The Hoff: Watching Pujara bat is like watching a prisoner mark off the days on his cell wall.
Good intent from Cheteshwar Pujara. He takes another single by dropping one behind point using soft hands. Joe Root has seen enough of this and has now stationed Moeen Ali into point to cut off the one.
Ajinkya Rahane attempts to repeat the trick, but Moeen gathers quickly and India think twice about taking the run. Good captaincy by Root.
Solid middle-order bat, I reckon.

At the moment India are marooned. Pujara isn't going anywhere and Rahane has just come in. They need to get some momentum into this innings.

There's been a lot of conjecture about Pujara's place in the side, and you can see that in the way he's playing. You can go into survival mode.
A single off Mark Wood's first ball of the over from Ajinkya Rahane brings Cheteshwar Pujara on to strike.
He ducks a bouncer then next ball he punches one into the off side to turn over the strike. Pujara is four from 55 balls.

John Petrie: This Test match could be a real turning point for the England team in terms of belief. There is a long way to go but if England win after the position India were in after the first day it would be a significant achievement.
Ajinkya Rahane averages 19.29 in Tests in 2021. Compared to a career average of 40.47. He's another player in India's middle order under a bit of pressure.
He is watchful to James Anderson's first over after lunch, defending well. Off the final ball of the over he dinks one into the ground, sets off, and is able to add a single to the score.
