  1. Ind 89-3published at 46.5 overs

Bodyline-lite from England as Mark Wood bowls around the wicket and aims to get it into the right-handed Cheteshwar Pujara armpit. England have a silly mid-off and a leg slip in place.

Pujara fends one off his ribs but it races away to the boundary but is cut off and he comes back for a second. Pujara then sways away to one angled across him. Hostile from Wood.

    This is more like it.

India have got a lot of batting to do. England just need to be patient. If they get one before tea then the others will come out and play shots.

England are controlling the game. They'll know they just need that spring of a couple of quick wickets.

  4. Ind 86-3published at 45.6 overs

Some turn from Moeen Ali. A delivery rags wide outside Cheteshwar Pujara's off stump as it takes a chunk out of the wearing pitch. I think we are supposed to mention the fact India haven't picked Ravichandran Ashwin again here? Just a single off that over for Ajinkya Rahane.

It is a nice shot. It is a nice one to get with the area being vacant.

I don't understand why England have put the fielder back straight away. They have got a chance of getting him caught on the leg side.

  7. Ind 85-3published at 44.4 overs

Cheteshwar Pujara cuts loose, throws off the shackles and goes ballistic! Well, kind of. But he does have a boundary. The fourth ball of Mark Wood's over is full and strays onto his pads and Pujara leans into it and times it beautifully to whip it square for four.

Lovely sight in the lower Warner. There's a girl in an England T20 top, with 'Sienna 11' on the back. Headphones in, binoculars. A welcome change from the suits sipping Pimm's.

  9. Ind 81-3published at 43.5 overs

    54 runs ahead

Pujara v Moeen is unlikely to make it on to the highlights reel. The India batsman advances down the wicket and flicks it into the leg side. There's enough power to take it to the boundary, but the sweeper cuts it off easily enough.

  12. Ind 79-4published at 42.4 overs

Mark Wood bangs it in with gusto, short and wide. Ajinkya Rahane wafts at it but doesn't connect. Fourth ball of the over Rahane drops one down from his ribcage and sets off for a brisk single.

Pujara is doing a job for his team. If he bats for another session and lets Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant flourish they'd be at a decent total.

  15. Ind 78-3published at 42.0 overs

Ajinkya Rahane cuts Moeen Ali for a single. Back to Cheteshwar Pujara who cautiously pokes, pushes, prods and leaves for no runs.

Mark Wood replaces Ollie Robinson at the Pavilion End.

Cheteshwar Pujara's 12 off 100 balls is only the 12th lowest total off 100 balls in recorded Test history.

Trevor Bailey scored just one off 100 balls.

There was a big build up to that. There is a standing ovation in the Mound Stand.

I don't see much of a smile there. He has had 89 dots, 10 singles and one two.

  19. Ind 77-3published at 40.2 overs

Cheteshwar Pujara has brought up his century against Ollie Robinson...of balls faced. He is 12 not out.

  20. Ind 76-3published at 39.6 overs

Phil Tufnell has his wish and England turn to spin. Moeen Ali tosses up the last ball of the over, and Cheteshwar Pujara uses his feet and rolls his wrists to knock it into the leg side for a single.
