Four more for India and Cheteshwar Pujara.

He climbs into a cut shot after James Anderson offers a bit of width. That may be his best shot so far.

The camera pans to a little Indian fan celebrating that boundary in wild fashion.

I'd be tempted to move the man at deep mid-wicket for Moeen Ali and put him somewhere else. I can't imagine Cheteshwar Pujara will come steaming down the wicket and slog it over there.

  3. Ind 113-3published at 56 overs

    Lead by 86

"Catchhh", bellows Jos Buttler, but Ajinkya Rahane manages to find the gap between mid-wicket and mid-on.

It was in the air, but pretty comfortable in the end. Four runs.

If you can hang in and not commit to a big shot, you can just survive.

  5. Ind 108-3published at 55 overs

    Lead by 81

More economical stuff from Jimmy Anderson with just a single, worked off the hips of Cheteshwar Pujara, added to the scoreboard.

There's no movement on offer at the moment. England are going to need to be patient.

It will be James Anderson from the Pavillion End.

He's conceded just 16 from his 13 overs.

This is a real battle - because if India get bowled out here then they are going to lose the game.

  8. Ind 107-3published at 54 overs

    Lead by 80

A single apiece from Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara starts the over, before four dots.

There's encouragement for Moeen from Jos Buttler and Joe Root. There isn't much assistance off the surface for him at this stage.

Moeen Ali, who has figures 0-12 from his seven overs, will get us going after the interval.

    Thanks Timothy.

There are still 37 overs left in the day, so we're highly likely to be going till 18:30 BST, light and weather permitting.

Right, I'm going to have a breather. Callum Matthews is primed to talk you through the final session - it could well shape the outcome of this match.

That doesn't mean it wasn any less absorbing. In fact, it was some of the most tense cricket of the match as England hammered away for that fourth wicket.

Cheteshwar Pujara has faced 148 balls and hit only two fours. Ajunkya Rahane has a relatively brutal two fours from 74 deliveries.

Mark Wood was orchestrating the Warner Stand during that last over before tea. It's gone a touch quiet for England, so any help they can get from the crowd might be crucial.

While England have bowled with great skill and control, this is where we really miss Ben Stokes with his ability to take wickets out of nowhere.

England will be confident that they are still very much in this game. But India are clawing themselves back into it. They have got Pant or Jadeja to come - and if one of them has a good day, it could be a very interesting Test match.
