Anyone else feeling another Joe Root special in the second innings? Just going to have to hope that someone can stay with him.

Craig Overton, who didn't bowl at all in the afternoon session, is going to start after the break.
The players are making their way out to the middle.
A reminder that India lead by 346 with two wickets remaining.
What can they set England?
It was spoke about at the time, but how damaging does this Moeen Ali shot and dismissal from Friday look now?
Him and Ollie Pope had got England to a position of control, and it was recklessly thrown away.
There are still a minimum of 43 overs left in the day, by the way.
Close is at 18:18 as we make up some time lost yesterday, and we can play until 18:48.
England could be a few down by then.

England lose Tests because they regularly fail to seize an advantage- they've missed four or five in this match alone.

73 wickets have fallen in the eight County Championship games already today.
Yes, 73.
Five of the eight games are into the second innings already. Some could genuinely be into the third innings by the close.

England did miss a big opportunity when the lead was 277 - a wicket then, hopefully by the rest quickly, would have given Joe Root's side a really decent chance.
They did eventually get their breakthroughs, but an unbroken 31-run stand between Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah has added another nail to the coffin.
Moeen holds 'sharp grab' to dismiss Pant

Regardless of the result, when England bat again I want to see a bit of grit and application. No flaky dismissals. Make India earn each wicket.
Alex, London
That session was largely about Shardul Thakar and Rishabh Pant.
I would say enjoy them, but I appreciate that is hard as an England fan.
Their 100-run seventh-wicket stand has put India in the driving seat, though.

England have a lot of trouble ahead, I feel it is either a draw or India to win as that is a lot of runs required.
Ind 445-8; lead by 346
Time for a break. Another brilliant session for India, adding 116 runs for the loss of just two wickets.
Joe Root looks perplexed. Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav have a laugh as they stroll off.

There are some tired bowlers, it is a flat pitch but it won't look so flat when Bumrah has the ball in his hand.
Lead by 345
Four more. Jasprit Bumrah plonks Moeen Ali over mid-wicket and away to the boundary.
This partnership is worth 30 now.
Good luck telling James Anderson he's not playing on his home ground, when he won't play any cricket, after that game, for three months.

Ian: For the fifth Test at Old Trafford starting on Friday I would make the following changes: Wood in for Anderson (Jimmy looks very tired), Mahmood for Overton, Leach for Moeen.
Lead by 341
Jasprit Bumrah keeps the strike with a single out to deep point.
He is again told off for running straight down the middle of the pitch. That is the second time.
Lead by 340
Uh oh. Jasprit Bumrah plays a glorious straight drive through mid-off for four, but that is sort of irrelevant right now.
Jos Root is hobbling and holding his leg. He tried to get across to cut off the ball, but didn't there, and immediately clutched the back of his leg.
Lead by 336
WinViz is currently 64% India, 19% England and 17% for the draw.
Surely this isn't going to end a draw?
