Dave: Burns owes the team a century after those dropped catches. If Root chips in with another ton England could just possibly offer some hope. Never gonna happen though is it?

This will be England's highest ever run chase if they were to win this.

    Can someone write history?

I'd say Ben Stokes has had long enough in the limelight of his Headingley heroics now.

In theory there are 36 overs left today (after we've lost the two for the change of innings). Add that to tomorrow's 90 and England have 126 overs to chase their target of 368, or survive for the draw.

It means they need to score at 2.92 runs an over. By no means impossible at the fast-scoring Oval.

They have four sessions, the pitch is playing quite well so if England bat that long you have to think they are winning it?

Umesh c Moeen b Overton 25 (Ind 466 all out)

All over. England will need 368 to win and take a 2-1 series lead.

Craig Overton goes full, and Umesh Yadav drives it straight to Moeen Ali at cover. England have toiled in the field, now it is time to see what they can do with the bat.

He had quite a few wickets to throw at from midwicket, and had the time to size it up. England's ground fielding has been a bit sloppy today.

    Hit em, Jimmy!

India want Mohammed Siraj off strike but it presents a run out opportunity, but Jimmy Anderson misses with his throw.

Earlier in that over we India picking out the new ball in the changing room. It started with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, before Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakar got involved.

They were throwing multiple balls up and down, seeing how they rotated through the air.

Oh, my. Umesh Yadav plants Chris Woakes over long-on for his second six.

He gets a big bear hug from Mohammed Siraj as a well done.

Virat Kohli has now got his whites on in the India changing room. He either has little faith in Mohammed Siraj's batting or a declaration is coming.

England haven't lost this Test because of Moeen's reckless shot. Or letting India get to 191. It's all down to the two lives they gave Rohit. Cost 120 runs.

Umesh Yadav leaves Mohammed Siraj the final ball of the over, and the India number 11 confidently works it into the on-side for a single.

    He wants the strike.

Umesh Yadav picks up a couple through point, before muscling a pull away to the boundary.

It was banged in by Craig Overton but it only got as high as the armpit, and it was comfortably played by Umesh.

He didn't really time it, an easy catch for Moeen. And another wicket for Chris Woakes - he has worked hard.

    Bumrah c Moeen b Woakes 24 (Ind 450-8)

    Chris Woakes has a third.

Jasprit Bumrah had clearly been given a licence to attack after the interval, but he miscues Chris Woakes straight to Moeen Ali to fall for 24.

A useful 24, though. A lead of 350 is a lot more damaging than a lead of 315.

I think 110-115 overs should be good enough. The fast bowlers will be thinking about another Test match in three days after this one.

The lead is over 350. Jasprit Bumrah moves to 24 with a glorious flick to the mid-wicket boundary.

Bumrah averaged something like three before this series, he's now scored over 80 runs across the four Tests.

Ian says drop Moeen for Leach, ridiculous idea. Moeen averages way more with bat than Leach, he's now 3rd most successful spinner in history and Leach couldn't spin a top. Moeen gives it a tweak.

Jasprit Bumrah helps himself to a single, into the covers, to end the over.

There was absolutely nothing for Craig Overton there.
