Incidentally, for fans of batsmen playing awful shots to get dismissed, do search out Matt Wade's dismissal. Hideous.

That's a lovely shot from Dan Lawrence. It was a gift but he's got hold of it.

  3. Eng 138-3published at 43.1 overs

    Shot!

A gift of a delivery from Dilruwan Perera and a very obliging Dan Lawrence thumps a full toss for four. And that takes England into the lead!

It's a good start for Sri Lanka - it is what they needed because the partnership was starting to look dangerous.

The pitch might have just quickened up a bit.

  5. Eng 134-3published at 43 overs

    Trail by 1

Dan Lawrence is off the mark to his first delivery, dancing back into his crease and driving a handsome single away off the back foot.

Joe Root cloths an ugly pull for a couple of runs to end the over.

It's a tricky start for Dan Lawrence - the ball is spinning and there's a few people around the bat.

    It's a great catch! A super catch.

That is quite a skill - it's the hardest thing to do.

    Bairstow c K Mendis b Embuldeniya 47 (Eng 131-3)

Jonny Bairstow heads off without adding to his overnight score.

He stretched forward and the ball spun, took the outside edge and flew to silly point, who got forward to get both hands under the ball as it seemed to be heading to the floor. Excellent fielding, and an early breakthrough for Sri Lanka!

Oh, gone! Jonny Bairstow, caught at silly point!

We're sending it upstairs to check. It went low, and Bairstow has stood his ground.

  13. Eng 131-2published at 42.1 overs

Here's Lasith Embuldeniya to bowl to Jonny Bairstow.

And his first ball turns, and sharply!

  15. Labuschagne century leads Australiapublished at 05:45 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2021

News from Australia, where Marnus Labuschagne has reached a century for Australia in the decisive final Test against India.

Dropped on 37 and 48, he has helped the hosts recover from 17-2 and 87-3 to reach 198-3 in the final session at the Gabba.

Matthew Wade is alongside him on 43 not out, a potentially match-shaping partnership is currently worth 111 and, to make matters worse for an already injury-ravaged India, seamer Navdeep Saini pulled up in his eighth over with a leg problem.

The series, let's not forget, is level at 1-1.

Mickey Arthur looked absolutely delighted with the result of that review, as you'd expect.

Meanwhile Joe Root celebrates his reprieve with a glorious push through long-off for four.

Sri Lanka will retain their review because a small shaving of the ball was in line with the stump.

  18. Not outpublished at 05:43 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2021

    Well!

It's going to hit the stumps line but it was umpire's call for impact, meaning Joe Root survives.

Oh, tell a lie - the bat hit the ground, rather than the ball, as Joe Root lunged out of his crease.

    To ball tracking we go.

He's outside the line for me, he got done by the length.

It's a bad review in my book.
