50 for Chandimalpublished at 65.1 overs
A slap off the back foot, and that will bring up Dinesh Chandimal's 20th Test half-century for Sri Lanka. A nice moment for the stand-in skipper.

There was something about Angelo Mathews' eyes when he came out today.
You could tell he just had a sense that this was a good surface.
Chandimal 49, Mathews 81
Tidy from Mark Wood, and Sri Lanka can only pinch a single.
Mark Wood will replace James Anderson, who has the quite ridiculous figures of 15-8-16-3. An economy rate of 1.07. It's daft how good he is.
Andy Zaltzman
Test Match Special statistician
In his last 50 Tests Jimmy Anderson has taken 190 wickets at an average of 20.8, but his economy rate is 2.37 per over.
If you compare that to early in his career - in his first 25 Tests, up to June 2008, his economy rate was 3.8. It's an extraordinary improvement.
Dom Bess produces a bit of sliding magic on the boundary to stop Angelo Mathews picking up four, but it's not enough to stop the 100 partnership coming up.
There's brief excitement as the England close fielders think, for half a second, that Angelo Mathews has sent a thin edge behind, but Joe Root opts against reviewing.

Give Dan Lawrence a bowl!

James Anderson, turning a deeper shade of red by the second, continues for another over, and there's a single from the final ball of his over.
That's a play and a miss, Jack Leach dragging Dinesh Chandimal forward, before a bit of extra bounce turns the ball past his outside edge. Nicely done.
Jack Leach will replace Dom Bess.

Anderson's figures - 3-15 from 14 overs - are ridiculous. The pitch is a beauty for batting on.
149-year-old! Feel free to say that to Jimmy's face, Dan. He took my criticism of his TV outfit fantastically well when he was working for TMS last summer.
Make that another maiden.

We need to see the good in this - flat track, overseas Test, everyone learning how to grind out results (hopefully). Bit of a concern that we are so reliant on a 149-year-old bowler but let's be positive!

I think Jimmy will probably bowl one more over and then bowl three with the new ball later.
Dinesh Chandimal advances, shuffling forwards, and Sam Curran takes a rap on the hand as he dives desperately to stop the ball. He can't completely grab on but he takes enough pace off the ball to stop the Sri Lanka skipper getting a boundary.
That is four though - short from Dom Bess and Angelo Mathews cracks it to the boundary.
Exiled England opener Alex Hales has smashed a century for Sydney Thunder in their Big Bash derby against the Sixers.
The right-hander reached the landmark off just 52 balls, and hit nine fours and seven sixes.
He's just been dismissed by Carlos Brathwaite for 110 off 59 balls, but Thunder are 217-4 with one over remaining.
You can follow that game here.
A firm push from Angelo Mathews is well stopped by Dan Lawrence in the covers, and that will be another maiden to add to James Anderson's total. He currently has figures of 13-7-15-3.
It was a change of ends for James Anderson, with an ominious sort of black cloud looming over the ground...

There is nothing there for the spinners today. We were expecting something.
Tidy enough from Bess first up.
