Anderson only has one five-wicket haul in the subcontinent. It was in Galle in 2012.

James Anderson nips his final ball of the over past Niroshan Dickwella's stumps. Superb.

I barbequed last night. It went well until a hail storm when I took the pork out.

I feel genuinely sorry for Mendis but great catch by Buttler. That was travelling quickly down the leg side.

Wood deserves that. You can't get a better start than this for England.

What a horrible way to get out on your Test debut!

It is an absolutely terrific take from Jos Buttler, who has been flawless behind the stumps. It's trailing down the leg side from Mark Wood, an absolute gift, you'd think, but Ramesh Mendis cannot tickle it fine enough. He pushes forward, the ball deflects onto the pad, and Buttler throws himself to his left to take a screamer of a one-handed catch.

That's a shot! Niroshan Dickwella gets an overpitched delivery from Mark Wood and he pops it straight back past him to pick up another boundary.

I like Dickwella. You feel like he's only ever 10 seconds away from doing something daft that may or may not pay off. Not the man you turn to for DRS advice if you're captain, though.

I'm sure we all remember Shane Warne's 90 against England at Old Trafford in 2005 fondly...

Right, Sam Curran's out of the attack, and Mark Wood is in.

Dickwella has gone into second place on the list of highest Test run scorers without scoring a century. He has 2,089 runs. Only Shane Warne has more runs - 3,154 - without a century.

We have to drink in every moment of Jimmy Anderson's bowling. The greatest.

He adds another maiden to his terrific tally. His figures? 21-12-24-4. Astonishing, really.

Hello. Niroshan Dickwella takes advantage of something short and wide from Sam Curran and larrups it off the back foot for four. Lovely stuff.

Mathews is shaking his head. It is one of those he might not have felt. It is a huge wicket.

The faintest of inside edges, and Angelo Mathews has to go.

It was the Anderson nip back that did for Mathews as he pushed forward, and the ball took the inside edge before deflecting onto the pad, and then through to Jos Buttler. It wasn't a confident appeal, Joe Root had that expression of "ah well, I might as well review it" and England have struck!
