First Test, day four, Chennai
Callum Matthews and Matthew Henry
Washington Sundar takes a single to leaves James Anderson two balls at Jasprit Bumrah.
To be fair the way Washington Sundar is batting the follow-on won't be an option in a few overs anyway!
These players aren't machines. It's 31 degrees in Chennai - it's hard work.
Dom Bess bowled like a man who was absolutely exhausted this morning too.

Enforce the follow on! With India fresh from their spectacular chase at the Gabba, England batting could take too much time out of the game and leave a draw more likely. Anderson won't play in the next match, Stokes has only bowled six overs and Archer is a young man. Bess and Leach will bowl most of the overs anyway.

Washington Sundar picks up a single off the final ball of the over to keep the strike.
Superb from him. Poor from England.

Tom Huffinley: Erm, why has Root taken Leach off? This is an odd move.
Shot! Washington Sundar plants Joe Root back over his head for another six.
He's up to 83.
Not sure the Joe Root experiment is going to plan.
Horrible hoick from Washington Sundar but an excellent bit of running earns him two.
Washington Sundar whacks Root's first ball to the cover boundary. Some shot that.
England have taken 3-38 with the new ball by the way.
Joe Root is bringing himself on.
Very, very likely I would say Dominic.
The bowlers are tired, and there is absolutely no chance that England will want to bat last on this pitch.
It's much more likely they'll bat, look to get around 400 on the board, and then have four sessions at India.

Why are you assuming England will bat? Very unlikely I'd have thought, no?
Dominic
Jasprit Bumrah keeps out the last delivery of the over.
Ishant c Pope b Anderson 4 (Ind 323-9)
England are on a roll.
Really clever bowling from James Anderson as he goes cross seam, and he gets extra bounce as a result. Ishant Sharma is looking to play forward, and he's surprised by the bounce and the ball just loops up in the air for a simple catch for Ollie Pope at short leg.
This has been much better from England in the last 20-30 minutes.

This is great from Leach. Good to see especially as we will have to do it all again later today.
Mark, Bexleyheath
Need another 57 runs to avoid the follow-on
Agricultural from Ishant Sharma. He gets down on one knee and hoicks from outside off, to the square leg boundary. Good intent from the India quick.
These are all useful runs for India. England will want them to chase at least 400, so every run India score is another the tourists need to put back on the board later today.
South Africa have lost two early wickets in their day-five chase of 370 to beat Pakistan in Rawalpindi. The tourists are 143-3, with Aiden Markram shoring up one end on 66 not out. Follow that game via our scorecard here.

Oh, my. Washington Sundar has just whacked James Anderson back over his head for six.
Sundar is 21, in his second Test, and Anderson has 606 Test wickets. The courage.
Not to mention he'd been beaten with the first five balls of the over. There was a hint of reverse swing on offer for Anderson too.
