Sibley 7, Lawrence 0
Daw Lawrence is grinning at the chirp from around the bat. He may be struggling to get bat on ball but that's good to see. A defensive shot is missed. A sweep is too.

I'm not moving to Stockport. Too many babies waking people up. Hang on, there is crying from my house upstairs... Can England call a drinks break? I'll be back in a minute...

To me it feels like England are now getting a taste of a real away Test in India. The atmosphere is intense and the crowd has lifted their opponents. Kohli is buzzing around, barking orders and encouragement from slip. It's really tough.

I think the crowd has made a massive difference there. The appeal was so loud it seemed the umpire was swayed after taking ages to lift the finger! This is going to be a tough morning.
Dan, Cambridge
Sibley clips away Ishant's first bad ball and gets four. There's utter silence as the ball reaches the rope.
It's all going on. Sibley gloves just short of Kohli at slip. He then takes a quick single and there's a whole load of shrieking from the fielders. The bottom line is England are off the mark.

How unusual is it to have a complete Test innings of 95+ overs with zero extras?
Andrew in Stockport
And now the trial by spin begins. Here's Ashwin. It's deafening in Chennai. It's India.
Sibley 0, Lawrence 0
As first overs go that was a pretty good one. Lawrence prods forward to the final ball and narrowly avoids edging behind.
Ishant is a man on a mission and looks to be pumped to the point of explosion.
That was a pretty straight ball from Ishant. Burns just missed it.
Dan Lawrence emerges in an atmosphere a little different to Chelmsford.
Burns lbw Ishant 0 (Eng 0-1)
Oh Rory...
A horror, horror start for England and their opener Burns. The ball tracking shows it was only clipping leg stump but that's a fair enough decision. It looked out.
The crowd is already celebrating after one replay...
Delirium in Chennai. Rory Burns is given out lbw third ball. He reviews but I don't hold much hope.
Is there anyone in Stockport not reading this?!

Adam Davies: Pant has committed the cardinal sin there. Single off the first ball. Only himself to blame Surely that's a good effort by England? 325 first innings? (I'm also from Stockport).
Here we go then. Who knows how this will turn out.
Ishant Sharma will begin proceedings. There's no spin. Yet...

Everyone is welcome but I am intrigued to know whether Stockport is currently a town of crying babies and sleepy-eyed cricket watchers.
