Massively care about over rates, especially for short form, which can plod just as much as a Test match but lack any of the subtlety and intrigue. Dull, dull, dull. Bring on The Hundred!

  7. Eng 24-0published at 5 overs

    Roy 11, Bairstow 6

Bhuvi is great. He ends this over by zipping the ball between Roy bat and pad. Somehow it goes over the stumps. He seems a lovely man too.

I’ve always enjoyed watching Bhuvneshwar bowl. Probably doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for his skill with Jimmy Anderson being around.

I must admit my girlfriend made mine and she's doing a proper job in the other room. I don't think she'll appreciate the interruption.

Tips anyone? Is Gino reading this?

Thinking about doing a lasagne tonight but never seem to really ace a white sauce. Any tips?

Prasidh Krishna looks a good bowler. He's getting the ball down at decent pace. Krishna plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL - Eoin Morgan's team.

He goes in search of a yorker but Roy drills it past his boot for four. Short ball next... Four more.

    Good battle.

  12. Eng 13-0published at 3 overs

It has been a quiet start. Bairstow and Roy are still to find the boundary.

Re: over rates. I think in a one dayer I don't really care because the game is going to take as long as the game is going to take. When it's a test match and I've paid to see 90 overs then slow over rates annoy me. Feels like you're getting short changed.

That lasagne I mentioned? It's now all down my front. Disaster.

Bairstow and Roy are looking to come down the pitch to Bhuvneshwar.

  15. Eng 9-0published at 2 overs

Krishna is a tall right-arm bowler. The ball tracking shows it would have gone over.

The quick loses his line a ball later. Wides down the leg side.

  16. Eng 4-0published at 1.3 overs

Almost a wicket third ball for Krishna! A bit of nip takes the ball onto Bairstow's pad. It may have gone over.

Kohli goes from celebrating with his finger wagging to deciding against a review.

One debutant has already impressed for India. What about the other? Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is opening from the Pavilion End.

  18. Eng 2-0published at 1 over

Bairstow is tentative with Bhuvi finding movement as darkness falls in Pune.

I'm live-texting with a laptop balanced on one knee and some reheated lasagne on the other. And people tell me I have an easy job.

  19. Eng 1-0published at 0.3 overs

England are away, courtesy of a leg-bye. There's a little bit of swing for Bhuvneshwar who bowled so brilliantly in that deciding T20.

Anyway, the players are back out there.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has the ball in hand. The Roystow band is back together for England.
