A switch of Currans. It's over to Sam...

  2. Eng 257-3published at 43 overs

Watch out if you're within a mile of this ground in Pune in the next 20 minutes, I reckon. It could be raining cricket balls.

Pant is flying and Rahul has 99. England could be chasing 350.

  3. 6 runs

Sorry, England Plan A is not working and they don’t have a Plan B. Sadly both Currans are just dessert trolleys against this Indian batting line-up.

  6. Ind 247-3published at 42.2 overs

Ben Stokes is continuing. I can't remember him bowling at the death for a long time but with England's attack understrength he's taking on the role.

    Rahul is on 97.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Pantpublished at 42 overs

Pant swings again... It's edgy but another four, this time past fine leg.

He goes to 50 from just 28 balls.

That Tom Curran over cost 22.

  8. 6 runs

    Ind 237-3published at 41.5 overs

Two months on and England still don't know how to bowl to Rishabh Pant.

In the slot on leg stump probably isn't it.

  9. Not outpublished at 41.4 overs

Still no wicket for Tom Curran in.

Hmmm. It looks like forearm, onto helmet and into Jos Buttler's gloves...

  11. India reviewpublished at 10:58 GMT 26 March 2021

Rishabh Pant is reviewing again. It looked like a simple gloved catch but he's convinced.

I feel like I’ve seen this game somewhere before.

  13. Ind 235-3published at 41.2 overs

England are getting hit all over the shop at the end of the innings again. Rahul goes to 96 with a four behind square on the leg side.

    Back-to-back boundaries.

  14. 6 runs

    Ind 231-3published at 41.1 overs

This is the shot of the day.

KL Rahul hits a textbook lofted drive over extra over.

It was there to be hit from Curran but still. He's into the 90s.

  15. Ind 225-3published at 41 overs

    Rahul 86, Pant 40

India are without Bumrah and Shami. They'll get better too.

Stokes gets away with a ball that looked suspiciously leg side to me at the end of his over.

I have been an England fan since 2005, this is probably the best all-round, all-format side I have seen England play in that time.

And now four down the ground to India's wicketkeeper batsman.

  18. 6 runs

    Ind 217-3published at 40.2 overs

It's clear Pant is going to charge though...

Ben Stokes is back in the attack and is dispatched over the leg side.

Huge anomaly in the laws there in an utterly bizarre incident. Pant reverse sweeps Tom Curran for four. He’s given out lbw. But it’s a dot ball. Cricket - the perfectly logical sport.

  20. Not out - Ind 210-3published at 10:50 GMT 26 March 2021

Incredible. Pant has played a reverse paddle but hit the ball through his own legs off the back of the bat. Remarkable.

It went for four to fine leg but it seems was called a dead ball because of the 'out' decision. Confusion all round.
