The weather has been threatening us for well over an hour, but it didn't come in time to save Notts' batsman Ben Slater.

He'd played ever so well in the circumstances and was on 73 when he tried to pull a ball from Durham skipper Scott Borthwick through mid-wicket. He mistimed the shot and was adjudged leg before by Ian Gould.

Slater looked stunned by the decision and took a long time to walk off. He's done his bit in this innings though, adding 67 for the third wicket with Joe Clarke and 71 for the fourth with Lyndon James.

However moments after he left the field it began to snow so the umpires took the players off and have called an early tea.

Play is set to resume at 15:30 BST if the weather moves through in time. It's a bit gloomy too.

On a wicket which is not offering much for the bowlers, Notts looks like they could hold on for a draw but there is still work to be done by the hosts.

They are 161-4 chasing 396 but, there are, in theory, 46.5 overs remaining.

    Gloucestershire 94-2 (target 228) v Surrey

Gloucestershire are rattling along in their chase of 228 at Bristol.

Graeme van Buuren is dealing in boundaries - eight fours and a six in his 44 off 40 balls!

Captain Chris Dent has 32. Gloucestershire need another 134 for victory.

  5. 50 runs

for Harry Brookpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Yorkshire (193 & 146-3) need 233 more runs to beat Glamorgan (330 & 241-4 dec)

Half-century for Harry Brook as Yorkshire move closer to saving this match.

It's comes off 60 balls with eight fours and a six.

Glamorgan's priorities have temporarily shifted to getting their over rate back up to positive numbers so they don't lose any bonus points.

It's been spin from both ends for a while which has made the task a bit easier for the Yorkshire batsmen.

  6. Worcestershire finally bowled outpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Essex 490-9 dec v Worcestershire 475

After 177.3 overs, Worcestershire's first innings is finally over.

Charlie Morris is the last man out for the Pears as they finish on 475, just 15 runs behind Essex's first innings.

Jake Libby is denied a chance of a career-best score as he finishes 180 not out, four runs shy of his best of 184.

But he has carried his bat and continues to have been on the field of play for every single ball of this match.

Sleet stops play at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire (267 & 161-4) need 235 more runs to beat Durham (330 & 332-4 dec)

And a combination of sleet and rain arrives in Nottingham.

Durham regrettably have to trudge off shortly after picking up that wicket of Ben Slater.

There are still a minimum of 47 overs to bowl. How many of those we'll lose, we'll wait and see.

    Yorkshire (193 & 125-3) need 254 more runs to beat Glamorgan (330 & 241-4 dec)

Just a 10-minute interruption between Yorkshire and Glamorgan as that shower blew over pretty quickly.

They lost a couple of overs as a result.

    Slater lbw b Borthwick 73 (Nottinghamshire 267 & 159-4 v Durham 330 & 332-4 dec)

    Well now....

Is this a timely twist in Durham's favour?

Ben Slater's long vigil is ended by a mistimed pull shot off Scott Borthwick that he takes a huge swing and miss at and is trapped leg before for 73.

There is some uncertain weather around but Durham now need six more wickets from the remaining 48 overs.

It was an extraordinary attacking innings from Gregory - just 72 balls and 10 fours.

    What a game at Lord's.

    Yorkshire (193 & 116-3) need 263 more runs to beat Glamorgan (330 & 241-4 dec)

Sun's shining, but there's also some sleet coming down in Leeds.

Off go the players and on come the covers.

Not sure how long this delay will last, but we're going to lose a fair chunk of the 45 overs still to bowl in the day.

  16. Draws in store?published at 14:50 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Group 1 update

Warwickshire still have a slight sniff of being able to force a win against Derbyshire.

They've picked up a seventh wicket in their second innings to leave the visitors 219-7. But Derbyshire's lead is 187 now.

There's no doubt they'll be some early handshakes at Chelmsford.

Worcestershire's mammoth first innings goes on - 452-8 now in reply to Essex 490-9 dec.

  17. 'I wanna see the sunshine after the.....snow'published at 14:47 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire (267 & 141-3) need 255 more runs to beat Durham (330 & 332-4 dec)

    Martin Emmerson
BBC Radio Newcastle at Trent Bridge

We have just had the spectacle of snow falling in brilliant sunshine. Work that out!

But it has now passed us by and play has continues anyway.

Durham haven't taken a wicket in the hour since lunch. That's because of resistance from Ben Slater (65) and Lyndon James (17). They have put together the 9th 50-run stand of the game.

Notts are 141-3 and need another 255 to win which is something they don't appear to be chasing.

It's all about batting out the final 52 overs. There is quite a bit of weather around us and the lights are on. So whether we see all of them is questionable.

  18. 50 runs

for Gregorypublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Middlesex v Somerset 269-6 (target 285)

One of the best knocks to probably win a game for his side you will see.

Lewis Gregory goes to his half-century with a three down the ground. It's taken the all-rounder just 55 balls.

Somerset need 16 more for victory.

  19. Somerset need 19 to winpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 11 April 2021

    Middlesex v Somerset 266-6 (target 285)

    This is intelligent batting.

With the field spread, Lewis Gregory and George Bartlett are picking off the singles.

Crazy to think they were 89-9 in their first innings and more than 200 behind.
