After scoring 119 with the bat earlier, he's now taken two Kent wickets - firstly captain Daniel Bell-Drummond and now Joe Denly a few moments ago.

Kent are in a whole lot of strife, although Zak Crawley is still there.

    Durham 475, Derbyshire 83-3

Wayne Madsen (36) and Matt Critchley (25) post a fifty partnership as they continue to pull the Derbysihre reply round against Durham.

Haseeb Hameed (31) and Ben Slater (23) have so far struck three boundaries each on a flat pitch that is clearly of great credit to the New Road groundstaff in the first home game of the summer, after yet another weather-hit winter.

Warwickshire still look likely to trail Essex on first innings - but they have at least gone past 200 to claim a batting point.

Danny Briggs is on 18, with Craig Miles on 6. They have so far put on 18.

But a second point is probably beyond them.

    Joe Root is gone!

The England Test captain is out for five for the second time in the match as he drives loosely and edges Sussex spinner Jack Carson behind.

  16. 'Useful first-innings lead'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Leics 233 v Somerset 318

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Somerset

So a first innings lead of 85 for Somerset - useful but not, one feels decisive.

Tom Abell will be hoping that his quartet of seamers can conjure the sort of swing which saw Chris Wright completely bamboozle the Somerset last man, Marchant de Lange, with the second new ball.

  17. Crawley batting for Kentpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Kent 3-1 v Lancashire 525

Kent have already lost opener Jordan Cox for a duck and so England batsman Zak Crawley is in the middle.

We'll keep a close eye on how he does at Canterbury.

    Durham 475, Derbyshire 59-3

There's a long way to but Wayne Madsen and Matt Critchley have shored things up a liltle for Derbyshire against Durham at Chester-le-Street.

From 26-3, when they came together in the seventh over following the early carnage from Chris Rushworth, they have already more than doubled the score to 59-3.

And they have even seen off Rushworth, who has now taken a breather after yet another destructive eight-over spell.
