His old Worcestershire team-mate Joe Clarke also made a ton that day, sharing a century stand with Leach - and he's had a close-up view of this one too.

Having become English county cricket's fourth double centurion of the summer, David Bedingham rolls remorsely on for Durham against Derbyshire at Chester-le-Street.

The South African has now made 233 - and that total has so far been bettered this season only by England's Ollie Pope, who made 245 for Surrey last week against Leicestershire.

The one Durham wicket since lunch was the loss of Paul Coughlin for 10, but new man Ben Raine is already on to 14.

Sam Hain is on 19. Matt Lamb is the new man in.

They're getting back under way after lunch in most matches now - except at New Road of course where they've just gone off for the interval.

  20. Lunch at New Roadpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Worcestershire 409-9 v Notts

And finally . . . A delayed lunch at New Road.

An extra half hour was taken as Worcestershire were nine wickets down.

But the Notts attack could not take advantage of the extra eight overs - and home captain Joe Leach can now tuck into his lunchtime repast even more contendedly, on 64.

Last man Charlie Morris has so far lasted 88 minutes for his 3 not out, from 46 balls.

58 for Ed Barnard at number 8, then 61 from Alzarri Joseph at 9, and now 64 not out from Leach at 10.

Long gone are the days of 'Tail-end Charlies', it seems.
