  1. Dismal start for Derbyshirepublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Durham 475, Derbyshire 33-3

Durham paceman Chris Rushworth causes havoc at Chester-le-Street as he takes three quick Derbyshire wickets.

Replying to Durham's daunting 475, Tom Wood and Leus du Plooy both depart in the space of three balls in Rushworth's second over.

After bowling Wood and trapping du Ploy LBW, Rushworth then needs a bit of help from wicketkeeper Stuaert Poynter in his next over to remove Luis Reece.

Wayne Madsen and in-form Matt Critchley now have the job of rebuilding the innings. The initial target is 326, just to avoid being asked to follow on.

  3. Roach rewarded with wicketpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Middlesex 261-9 v Somerset 154

West Indies paceman Kemar Roach finally gets his first wicket of the innings in his 25th over.

Ethan Bamber edges him to slip where Rikki Clarke juggles and holds on.

Middlesex are nine down but with a lead of more than 100.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Bresnan b Harmer 21 (Warwickshire 155-6 v Essex)

Last week's Bears batting hero Tim Bresnan goes. Three wickets now for Simon Harmer.

The second to be clean bowled. In fact, five of today's wickets have involved the rearrangement of the timbers. Four bowled. One stumped.

New man in is England's Olly Stone, who also made useful runs last Sunday, scoring 43 in that unlikely but ultimately successful run chase at Nottingham.

What the Bears woulod gtve now for a repeat?

Matt Lamb still there, having now moved on to 36.

  5. 50 runs

for Lythpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Sussex 221 v Yorkshire 150 & 79-0

Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth is in some form at the start of this season.

The left-hander goes to his fifth half-century in six innings - two of them he's converted into centuries.

Yorkshire have also wiped off that first-innings deficit of 71 without any damage.

  6. 100 runs

for Lambpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Kent v Lancashire 471-8

Danny Lamb gets to a maiden first-class hundred with a six!

The Lancashire number nine biffs Jack Leaning back over his head to move to 102.

    Brilliant innings from the 25-year-old.

  7. Bedingham brilliant - but only second bestpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

Durham 475 all out v Derbyshire.

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

David Bedingham's incredible innings began at 11.10 on day one with Durham in a pickle on 7-2 after just 14 balls.

He left the field at 2.50 on day two having hit a career-best 257.

It was 77 more than the unbeaten 180 he made at Trent Bridge two weeks ago - but only the second highest score by a Durham player, not quite matching Martin Love's 273 against Hampshire here in 2003.

  9. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Middlesex 249-8 v Surrey 154

This is a really useful knock from Middlesex number eight Toby Roland-Jones.

He's moved onto 33, with five boundaries, to take Middlesex's first-innings lead towards 100.

These lower-order runs are frustrating Surrey.

  10. wicket

Durham all out for 475published at 15:14 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Salisbury c Hosein b Conners 14 (Durham 475 v Derbyshire)

Sam Conners completes his first five-wicket haul as he takes the wicket of Matt Salisbury to end the Durham innings.

David Bedingham's career-best 257 - the highest individual score of the English county season so far - dwarfs the other contributions in Durham's 475 all out.

  11. wicket

Hampshire all out for 470published at 15:13 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Abbas b Higgins 5 (Hampshire 470 v Gloucestershire)

Mohammad Abbas is last man out at Southampton, for 5.

It's a fourth scalp for Ryan Higgins, who matches his fellow opening bowler Dan Worrall.

Higgins (4-78 off 32.1 overs) all but matches Worrall's 4-75 off 31 overs - at an identical economy rate of 2.42.

  12. wicket

Worcestershire all out for 436published at 15:12 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Leach c Mullaney b Patterson-White 84 (Worcestershire 436 v Notts)

Captain Joe Leach is last man out for 84 at New Road, after an 81-run last-wicket stand with Charlie Morris, who lasted a limpet-like two hours and 21 minutes for his 10 not out off 67 balls.

Leach's highest score in five years - and a great comeback by the Pears from 216-7 just after tea the evening before.

Young Notts spinner Liam Patterson-White finishes with four wickets.

  13. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Leics 233 v Somerset 251-6

Somerset have moved past Leicestershire's first-innings total of 233 and just earned a second batting bonus point.

Two dangerous batsmen in Steven Davies and Craig Overton are at the crease.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

Burgess st Wheater b Harmer 2 (Warwickshire 129-5 v Essex)

Having waited until his 14th over to strike, Simon Harmer takes his second wicket just another 12 balls later.

After seeing Harmer remove Sam Hain, new man Michael Burgess makes an ill advised advance down the wicket to only his seventh delivery, misses it and Adam Wheater whips off the bails.

The Bears are still 166 shy of Essex's first-innings total, which suddenly looms a little larger.

  15. Middlesex eight downpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Middlesex 228-8 v Surrey 154

Middlesex have just lost an eighth wicket at Lord's. Debutant Luke Hollman smashed Jordan Clark straight into the hands of Amar Virdi at mid-wicket.

Middlesex's lead is 74. Could be very handy if it proves to be a low-scoring contest.

  16. Dawson gone for 65published at 15:03 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Hampshire 462-9 v Gloucestershire

After three post-lunch wickets for Dan Worrall, Ryan Higgins gets back in on the act for Gloucestershire as he bowls Liam Dawson for 65.

But Hampshire have still built a big total, constructed chiefly by centurions Tom Alsop and Ian Holland - and then half-centurions Dawson and James Vince.

  17. wicket

    Hain b Harmer 36 (Warwickshire 119-4 v Essex)

Sam Hain goes for 36 - and it's a first wicket for Simon Harmer.

Having said that, it's the South African spinner's 269th for Essex - and the 270th quickly follows . . .

  18. Postpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Sussex 221 v Yorkshire 150 & 33-0

Yorkshire are off to a good start in their second innings with Adam Lyth and Tom Kohler-Cadmore taking the shine off the new ball.

Yorkshire trail by just 38 now.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Wood c Robinson b Milnes 119 (Kent v Lancs 435-8)

Finally Kent get their first wicket of day two.

Luke Wood snicks Matt Milnes behind and is out for a superb 119.

His eighth-wicket stand with Danny Lamb was worth 187.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 23 April 2021

    Bedingham c Hosein b Conners 257 (Durham 458-9 v Derbyshire)

David Bedingham is finally out for 257, caught behind off Sam Conners.

It's the second highest score in Durham's 30-year first-class history.

And he departed just 16 run short of the best, Australian Martin Love's 273 against Hampshire, also at Chester-le-Street, in 2003.

It's a foutth wicket for Derbyshire paceman Conners, who maybe now fancies the chance of a 'five-fer'.
