    Worcs v Essex 269-2

Essex start day two in an extremely strong position at New Road.

Captain Tom Westley is closing in on a century, while England batsman Dan Lawrence will be looking for a big score of his own on a decent track.

There is a bit of weather about in Worcester this morning though. One to keep an eye on.

    Lancs v Sussex 320-7

Exciting session coming up at Hove where Sussex are trying to stretch out to a fourth batting point.

Their lower order rallied well last week against Yorkshire, if it does so again, Sussex could have a nice number to work with.

  3. Wicket for Nottspublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Derbys 86-9 v Notts 256

It didn't take long for Notts to get stuck back in to Derbyshire.

Luke Fletcher has just removed Ben Aitchison to leave them 86-9. 21 still needed to avoid the follow-on as last man Sam Conners comes in.

    Fletcher has 4-23.

    Derbys 86-8 v Notts 256

It could be a pivotal morning in this East Midlands derby.

Derbyshire need another 21 to avoid the follow-on. Notts need another two wickets.

With some weather around, Notts may well want to enforce it.

    Surrey 131-1 v Hants 92

Hashim Amla (59 not out) and Rory Burns (61 not out) resume their innings for Surrey.

Hampshire need wickets. And lots of them.

It was a poor opening day from two of the three group leaders.

Group One leaders Warwickshire were bowled out for just 87 at Durham having been 30-8 at one stage.

Durham then overtook that without losing a wicket to reach 88-0 at stumps.

In Group Two, leaders Hampshire were also skittled for a low score at The Oval. Surrey dismissed them for 92 before unbeaten half-centuries from Rory Burns and Hashim Amla took them to 131-1 at the close.

Group Three leaders Lancashire also endured a tricky first day at Hove - Sussex closed on 318-7 and will be looking to push towards 400 this morning.
