  1. 50 runs

for Saif Zaibpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Yorks 206 v Northants 173-5

Saif Zaib has been around at Northants for a very long time and never managed to really break through into the first choice XI.

But smart and very timely half-century here, just his fourth in first-class cricket, to bring his side back from the brink.

He can't go on though, driving over a ball slanted in from David Willey.

Important wicket to break a stand of 92.

Yorkshire could still sneak a first-innings lead.

  2. Postpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Somerset 61-2 v Middlesex 357

James Hildreth and Tom Abell have steadied things for Somerset since they lost the two openers early on.

Hildreth has also become Somerset's fourth highest run scorer in this innings, going past Bill Alley.

  3. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Derbys 105 v Notts 256 & 189-2

Notts have lost Ben Duckett for 87, but they're still in a fantastic position to pick up a first red-ball win since June 2018.

They lead by 340 with seven and a bit sessions left in the game.

    Walter c Fell b Mitchell 65 (Worcs v Essex 463-5)

Daryl Mitchell gets Paul Walter for 65 with his wily medium-pacers.

Essex are looking for quick runs now with a declaration in mind.

  5. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Lancs 95-1 v Sussex 328

Sussex have a breakthrough at Hove.

Jack Carson, playing just his eighth first-class match, has got one through Alex Davies trying to cut.

A green attack for Sussex with Jamie Atkins currently on at the other end on his first-class debut.

  6. 'Patience from Lees'published at 15:19 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Durham 246-1 v Warwickshire 87

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Lees has followed Will Young in reaching his 100. It's his first against Warwickshire as well. He's been batting for around seven hours now and this century, his fifth in first-class cricket for Durham, came in a patient but tenacious 283 balls.

Without looking at the stats I would imagine this has been his slowest hundred so far. It is also his 17th and Durham are in a great position here at 246-1. They lead Warwickshire by 159.

Lees' last century was 106 against Yorkshire last August.

Warwickshire hadn't conceded a century so far in this season and now we have had two today. Young was eventually out for 124.

  7. 100 runs

for Leespublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Durham 241-1 v Warwickshire 87

Durham opener Alex Lees gets to his century at Chester-le-Street.

It's been an innings of great patience, coming off 283 deliveries, but Durham had so much time after skittling the Bears on day one.

  8. 50 runs

for Walterpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Worcs v Essex 447-4

The run fest continues at New Road as Paul Walter becomes the fourth Essex batsman to pass fifty.

With a bit of weather around today, and into the weekend, when will Essex be looking to have a bowl?

  9. 150 runs

up for Northamptonshirepublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Yorks 206 v Northants 156-5

Saif Zaib and Tom Taylor are leading Northants back into the game at Headingley.

They lost 4-5 in 26 deliveries this morning to slump to 81-5 but this is a nice partnership.

But still work to do to get on terms.

  10. wicket

Glamorgan all outpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Glam 197 v Kent 138

Kent have taken the final two Glamorgan wickets in just seven deliveries and Glamorgan fall just short of a batting point.

I mentioned anything under 200 Kent will probably have taken but a deficit of 59 could be significant in what looks like a low-scoring shootout.

  11. wicket

Leicestershire all outpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Glos v Leics 421

Conceding over 400 was certainly not what Gloucestershire had in mind when they won the toss yesterday.

But for the second week running they've been in the field for 144 overs.

They've closed out the innings quite well, taking 4-28 and Dan Worrall has taken the final wicket to finish with 5-79 - an eighth five-for of his career.

Plenty to do for the Glosters to get back into the game.

  12. 150 runs

    Surrey 317-2 v Hants 92

    Hashim AmlaImage source, Rex Features

Hashim Amla brings up his 150 at The Oval.

Like shelling peas to this fella.

Surrey lead by 225 and Hampshire have no answers to Amla or Ollie Pope it appears.

  13. 50 runs

for Hameedpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Derbys 105 v Notts 256 & 147-1

    Haseeb HameedImage source, Rex Features

A duck in the first innings was merely a blip on a fine season for Haseeb Hameed.

The Notts opener reaches his fourth fifty of the campaign with a sweet cover drive to the rope.

It's come off 84 balls.and Notts' lead is just short of 300.

Dr Bruce Burton: Cautiously optimistic that Notts fans might soon have cause to celebrate a first red ball win since 2018. A few false dawns over the years though...

They'll do well to lose it from here. Notts are 141-1 in their second innings at Derbyshire, leading by 292.

WICKETpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Banton lbw b Murtagh 3 (Somerset 16-2 v Middlesex 357)

Now both Somerset openers are gone!

Tom Banton is pinned lbw by Tim Murtagh and on his way cheaply.

Somerset are really struggling for runs at the top of the order this year.

  16. Early wicket for Middlesexpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

    Somerset 16-1 v Middlesex 357

Steven Finn has picked up a wicket for Middlesex at Taunton.

Tom Lammonby edged the paceman behind for 13.

An unbeaten 70 aside in their win against Leicestershire, Lammonby is not having a good time of it this season.

He's made just 26 runs in his other six innings.

    Ffion Wynne
    BBC Radio Wales

What a birthday Darren Stevens is having – he now has figures of 5-53 as Glamorgan continue to collapse at Cardiff. Timm van der Gugten is his latest victim, caught behind for 10.

Glamorgan lead by just 21 with two wickets in hand.

  18. Five-wicket haul for Darren Stevenspublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 30 April 2021

We've said it many times before and we'll keep saying it for some time it seems.

Where on earth would Kent be without Darren Stevens?

This is the 30th five-for of his career.

And on his 45th birthday too!
