Tea timepublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 6 May 2021
With a couple of exceptions, it is tea in most of our games right now.
Hang there, we'll show you all the scores from around the grounds shortly.
Eight fixtures in Round Five of the season
Essex, Hants & Sussex all bowled out before tea
Durham & Derbyshire only two counties not playing in this round
James Anderson plays first game of season for Lancashire
Adam Williams and Gary Smee
With a couple of exceptions, it is tea in most of our games right now.
Hang there, we'll show you all the scores from around the grounds shortly.
Hampshire 79 v Somerset 41-3
A sudden shower blows in across the ground with just under five overs until the scheduled tea interval.
So that may well be where these two sides decide to take a break anyhow and it's certainly all been happening so far on this eventful first day.
Middlesex 117-5 v Gloucs
Slow left-armer Tom Smith gets Middlesex keeper John Simpson lbw and that'll be tea.
Another good, shortened session for Group Two leaders Gloucestershire.
Duckett c Wheater b Porter 0 (Nottinghamshire 34-2 v Essex 99)
Ben Duckett dismissed first ball!
Jamie Porter with the breakthrough to give Essex a second wicket in quick succession.
Adam Wheater with the simple catch with the gloves on.
Lancashire v Glamorgan 97-2
That shower came and went and so they're ready to play again!
Slater c Walter b Snater 14 (Nottinghamshire 31-1 v Essex 99)
Commentator's curse for Ben Slater....
No sooner had I mentioned how good he was looking, he chips a simple catch to Paul Walter at midwicket off the bowling of Shane Snater.
Essex have a first scalp.
Nottinghamshire 31-0 v Essex 99
Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater both into double figures as they continue to build a strong platform in Nottinghamshire's reply.
Slater's survived a big leg before shout and also edging one just short of Simon Harmer at second slip but Hameed is starting to get his wristy flicks and late cuts going.
Lancashire v Glamorgan 97-2 - rain delay
The plan was to get going again at 15:40 BST in Manchester, but another shower arrived and so that's been put back.
We'll let you know when there's another update.
Hildreth lbw b Abbott 14 (Hampshire 79 v Somerset 36-3)
Here comes Kyle Abbott taking wickets against Somerset again!
James Hildreth is extremely adjacent shall we say as Abbott strikes him on the pads and there's little hesitation from the umpire in raising the finger.
Somerset 36-3 now in reply to Hampshire's 79.
Crawley c Root b Patterson 90 (Yorkshire v Kent 144-4)
Zak Crawley is out for 90!
The Kent batsman chips one from Steven Patterson straight into the hands of his England captain Joe Root at cover.
Hugely frustrating for the 23-year-old.
Nottinghamshire 12-0 v Essex 99
Haseeb Hameed (5 not out) and Ben Slater (6 not out) have made a watchful and relatively untroubled start to Nottinghamshire's innings so far.
Not too much to encourage the Essex new ball pair of Peter Siddle and Jamie Porter yet.
Vasconcelos lbw b Sarro 8 (Northants 8-2 v Sussex 106)
Teenage seamer Joe Sarro strikes with just his fifth ball in first-class cricket!
The 19-year-old pins in-form Northants opener Ricardo Vasconcelos lbw.
A debut over to remember for the youngster from Eastbourne.
Northants 0-1 v Sussex 106
Ollie Robinson has a wicket with his second ball!
The Sussex paceman pins Ben Curran lbw for nought.
What a day for the bowlers at Wantage Road.
A little stat for you - Robinson has taken 271 first-class wickets at an average of 21.15. How much longer before he gets to wear an England shirt?
Warwickshire v 158-4 v Worcestershire
Dan Wheeler
BBC Hereford & Worcester at Edgbaston
Worcestershire needed a turnaround this afternoon and, thanks to a combination of luck and skill, they've started to claw their way back into this.
First Pieter Malan (32) ignored one from Ed Barnard that clattered into his off stump in the first over after lunch before Sam Hain (8) got in a tangle trying to sweep a full ball from Brett D'Oliveira that the batter missed and heard cannon into the base of leg stump.
Then Matt Lamb, who took 21 deliveries to get off the mark, followed a wide one from Joe Leach that he nibbled behind to Ben Cox for 11.
Rob Yates (81 not out) with his delicious timing, has got to within sight of a century and is the prize wicket for the visitors.
So, Essex, Hampshire and Sussex have all been bowled out before tea on day one.
Poor batting or excellent bowling? Probably a bit of both.
England batting coach Marcus Trescothick certainly won't have been impressed with what he saw from Essex at Trent Bridge.
Warwickshire 154-4 v Worcestershire
A fairly evenly-balanced day so far at Edgbaston between the Bears and the Pears.
Joe Leach has picked up his second wicket of the day dismissing Matthew Lamb for 12 to leave Warwickshire 154-4.
Rob Yates (78 not out) continues to impress at the other end with his discipline and shot selection.
Northants v Sussex 106
Gareth Berg and Ben Sanderson take the last couple of Sussex wickets in the space of a few balls and both end with five-wicket hauls.
Berg bowls Jack Carson to finish with 5-18 and Sanderson removes debutant teenager Joseph Sarro without scoring to claim 5-28.
Sussex all-rounder Ollie Robinson is left stranded on 49.

Andi: Seem to recall Kyle Abbott rolled Somerset at this ground in 2019, not good idea to count chickens.
Might be him and some other bowlers who do the damage on this occasion, but yes Kyle Abbott certainly did have a match to remember two seasons ago as he took 17-86 all up!
Byrom c Holland b Abbas 11 (Hampshire 79 v Somerset 11-2)
And another one down!
Hampshire dismiss both Somerset openers in quick succession. Mohammad Abbas has Eddie Byrom caught at third slip by Ian Holland for just 11.
Game on!
Lancashire v Glamorgan 97-2 - rain delay
Still no word on a restart at Old Trafford as the showers keep on rattling through.
