    Well, who'd 'a thought it, as they say in the West Country.

    The much-vaunted Hampshire batting unit routed for 79 and Somerset coming in to bat before the afternoon session is even half-finished.

    It's explained by good bowling, rather than bad batting, on a helpful pitch under cloudy skies. With Kyle Abbott and Mohammad Abbas to lead the Hampshire attack, a first-innings lead for Somerset is far from guaranteed.
