  1. Not long left at Old Traffordpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Yorkshire 159 & 81-1, Lancashire 509-9 dec

Only two scheduled overs left in the day at Old Trafford before the 6.00 close - and Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Will Fraine look like seeing out the day.

Good, solid blocking from the Tykes.

  2. Postpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Northamptonshire 121-2 (target 217)

    Shoooot!

Luke Procter helps one round the corner to move to 45 not out and take Northamptonshire's required rate into double figures. Just 97 needed now.

  3. Bears six down at Edgbastonpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Warwickshire 341 & 134-6, Notts 297

Warwickshire lose another two wickets at Edgbaston as Luke Fletcher strikes twice in one over.

In the space of five balls, he removes Matt Lamb leg before wicket for 7, before bagging Tim Bresnan for a fourth-ball duck.

    Warwickshire lead by 178.

    Now then . . .

  4. Postpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Gloucestershire 158 & 61-4 v Surrey 495

And Gloucestershire's Ian Cockbain is also bowled for six as spinner Amir Virdi fires in a corker.

    The hosts trail by 254.

  5. Derbyshire lose second wicketpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Derbyshire 270 & 67-2, Worcestershire 421

Billy Godleman is second man out for Derbyshire at New Road as the visitors, following on, try to eat into their 151-run first-innings deficit.

The Derbyshire skipper made 21 before earning Daryl Mitchell his third slip catch of the day and Alzarri Joseph his third wicket.

With Wayne Madsen, already on to 14, alongside Leus du Plooy (17) Derbyshire still need another 84 to make the Pears bat again.

Worcestershire and Derbyshire are two of only four winless sides in this season's County Championship.

Joe Leach's Pears must now be feeling confident of putting that stat right.

  6. Postpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Durham 161-6 (target 385)

The Peter Siddle express continues as the Essex man bowls Ned Eckersley for six.

Durham are now 161-6, requiring a further 224 runs for victory.

  7. wicket

Lyth out at Old Traffordpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Lyth c Wells b Parkinson 39 (Yorkshire 159 & 72-1, Lancashire 509-9 dec)

Sharp catch at leg slip for Luke Wells off leg spinner Matt Parkinson to get rid of Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth for 39.

It has taken until the 39th over to make a breakthrough - but it is rapturously and raucously received by the 2,000 lucky home supporters present.

Will Fraine comes out on a pair to join Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

Eight overs left tonight - and Saqib Mahmood is on and steaming in.

  8. Postpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Durham 151-5 (target 385)

You know what, I love seeing Peter Siddle bowling in an Essex shirt. And I say that as an Englishman that lives up north.

The Australian paceman takes his first scalp of the innings, trapping Jack Burnham leg before for five. Durham require a further 234 runs to win.

  9. Rhodes misses out on ton againpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Warwickshire 341 & 118-4, Notts 297

Two half-centuries in the match for Will Rhodes but no ton!

The Warwickshire skipper, who made 91 in the first innings, is now gone for 63 - bowled by Zak Chappell.

It's a third successive scalp in this innings for Notts' former Leicestershire paceman.

Michael Burgess comes in to join Matt Lamb.

  10. Postpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Gloucestershire 158 & 44-3 v Surrey 495

It's a great double for bowler Sean Abbott, who grabs his second of the match, but not so much for batsman for Tom Lace who has a pair.

Abbot clean bowls the unfortunate batsman and races away in celebration.

Gloucestershire are now 44-3. I don't think the comeback is on.

  11. 50 runs

50 up for Yorkshirepublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Yorkshire 159 & 61-0, Lancashire 509-9 dec

It's taken until the 33rd over but the Yorkshire 50 is up.

Adam Lyth follows that up by slapping two more boundaries to go to 37.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore has taken root on 20.

It was missing barely without trace in the first innings, other than a fine half-century from teenage wicketkeeper Harry Duke on his Roses Match debut, but Yorkshire are showing a bit of good, honest millstone grit here.

Fascinating cricket for the 2,000 crowd.

12 overs left in the day. Lancashire would love, really love, a breakthrough tonight.

  12. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Durham 137-4 (target 385)

And another wicket for Essex's Sam Cook as he traps Michael Jones for 35 to reach his three-for.

  13. Postpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Leicestershire 2-1 (target 378)

Not the start Leicestershire would have wanted as Hassan Azad top-edges Ethan Bamber and goes for one.

Four in the match for Bamber now. Leicestershire are in trouble.

  14. Chappell takes second wicketpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Warwickshire 341 & 115-3, Notts 297

Zak Chappell gets Sam Hain cheaply, caught behind for 5 - and the Bears are now three down in their second dig.

The lead is up to 159 and skipper Will Rhodes is still there on 63.

Matt Lamb is the new man in.

This game could still go either way.

  15. Postpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Gloucestershire 158 & 42-2 v Surrey 495

Another Surrey breakthrough as Sean Abbott takes his first scalp for the county, removing Chris Dent LBW for 14.

Gloucestershire still 273 runs away from just making Surrey bat again.

  16. Postpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Gloucestershire 158 & 38-1 v Surrey 495

Breakthrough for Surrey as Kraigg Brathwaite is caught and bowled by Jamie Overton.

It's not been Gloucestershire's day, has it?

  17. Hard going at Old Traffordpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Yorkshire 159 & 34-0, Lancashire 509-9 dec

This is proper Roses Match cricket now as Yorkshire's openers bed in again after tea.

The Tykes have four sessions to save this time and, although they have so far managed just 34-0 from 24 overs, Adam Lyth and Tom Kohler-Cadmore have so far admirably modelled the way Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells got their heads down yesterday.

No immediate signs of any alarms in the pitch - but they have managed just four singles now in the last 92 balls.

  18. wicket

Middlesex 218 all outpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Middlesex 295 & 218 v Leics 136

A sixth wicket for Chris Wright who finishes with figures of 6-48.

Luke Hollman is the last to go, guiding one to the slips to fall for 26.

Middlesex have set Leicestershire a mammoth target of 378 runs to win.

  19. Postpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Durham 134-3 (target 385)

Not too much to report on from Chester-le-Street. We're playing again but the run rate is barely over two per over.

David Bedingham (15 not out) and Micahel Jones (34 not out) are in defensive mode.

  20. Another wicket for Nottspublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

    Warwickshire 341 & 97-2

Pieter Malan is out shortly after the restart at Edgbaston - before any runs had been added.

It's a first wicket of the match for Zak Chappell.

    The Bears lead by 141.
