This has been a real captain's innings from Northants' Adam Rossington.

With his side looking a bit vulnerable he has steadied things and patiently waits to get the single he needs to reach his half-century.

Rossington normally scores quickly but this has taken him 93 balls, with Northants now leading by 233 runs and close to securing a draw with Kent.

Nicely poised at Headingley heading into the final session of the match.

  11. Tea at Canterburypublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392 & 156-8

Adam Rossington's 40 not out is slowly but surely steering Northants towards a draw.

They're not over the line yet but they lead by 218 and Kent would need finish this innings sharpish and score at more than a run a ball for an unlikely victory.

    You never quite know, though!

  12. Postpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392 & 155-8

Northants skipper Adam Rossington is more than happy to let Simon Kerrigan have the strike.

He was similarly laid back with Tom Taylor and Nathan Buck, and we know what happened to them...

Rossington is 39 not out and Northants lead by 217 runs with 42 overs to go.

  13. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

Tom Alsop and Sam Northeast are 23 and 19 not out respectively.

Buck lbw Denly 6 (Northants 150-8)

Kent captain Daniel Bell-Drummond brings Joe Denly into the attack to bowl some leg-breaks and he traps Nathan Buck lbw.

Buck isn't best pleased with the decision and he did get a good stride in, but he has to walk.

Northants lead by 212 but have only two wickets left. Will Kent go for this if they can get a couple quick dismissals?

    Essex 211 v Notts 293 & 44-2

    ChelmsfordImage source, Rex Features

With rain continuing to fall and no real prospect of a finish, the captains have shaken hands on a draw at Chelmsford.

Notts led by 127 runs with eight wickets remaining, so the decision makes sense.

They take 13 points from the contest while it's 11 for second-placed Essex, who are three points ahead of Notts in Group One having played a game more.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Taylor c Cox b Gilchrist 12 (Northants 138-7)

Every time you think Northants are starting to take victory out of Kent's reach, they lose a wicket.

Tom Taylor had done well and started to play some shots but maybe he gets too confident as he's well-caught in the slip cordon by Jordan Cox.

It's a super delivery from Nathan Gilchrist - he has three wickets and Northants lead by 200 runs with three wickets left.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Ali Orr b Bess 67 (Yorkshire 558 v Sussex 313 & 125-3)

    Got him!

A brilliant innings on debut from Ali Orr comes to a close with Dom Bess beating the 20-year-old with a right ripper.

And suddenly it's game on again, with Yorkshire needing seven more wickets in 50 overs to win.

Australian Travis Head is the new man in.
