    Yorkshire 558 v Sussex 313 & 61-2

    You wait for ages...

A second wicket for Yorkshire as Stiaan van Zyl edges Jordan Thompson behind to keeper Harry Duke for a golden duck.

Aaron Thomason is the new man in. Work to do for Sussex who trail by 184.

    S Cook b Hutton 6 (Essex 210)

    Notts celebrateImage source, Rex Features

    That's Essex all out.

Peter Siddle struck back-to-back fours off Luke Fletcher but then Brett Hutton bowls Sam Cook to complete a five-wicket haul.

Notts hold an 82-run first-innings lead at Chelmsford but we won't get a result unless the sides agree to engineer a grandstand finish.

    Yorkshire 558 v Sussex 313 & 60-1

Here we go, Yorkshire have their first breakthrough.

Dom Bess gets the ball to spit up, catching the shoulder Tom Haines' bat. The ball loops up into the air, before landing in the palms of a diving Adam Lyth in the slips.

Haines goes for a battling 24.

    Essex 196-9 v Notts 293

Luke Fletcher celebratesImage source, Rex Features

Luke Fletcher joins fellow Notts bowler Brett Hutton in getting an lbw, as Essex batsman Simon Harmer is trapped leg before and departs for 20.

Essex are 196-9 - will they get that batting point? Yes. The incoming Sam Cook finds the boundary to take them past the 200 mark.

No declaration for now but either way this innings is likely to come to an end soon.

    Vasconcelos c Robinson b Stevens 9 (Northants 25-2)

    Kent celebrateImage source, Rex Features

It's another wicket for Kent veteran Darren Stevens!

Ricardo Vasconcelos gets an outside edge and it's a simple catch behind the stumps for Ollie Robinson.

It's a big wicket and though Northants lead by 87, one or two nerves may creep in.

    Snater lbw b Hutton 24 (Essex 193-8)

    Notts celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Nottinghamshire right-armer Brett Hutton pins Shane Snater lbw for his 200th first-class wicket.

It's Hutton's fourth of the innings as the new ball works its magic for the visitors.

Essex might've thought about declaring but they're just seven runs from a batting point as Peter Siddle comes to the crease, and they trail Notts by 100.

    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392 & 20-1

Kent have tried to put on a bit of a show for their fans by declaring and putting some pressure on Northants, but it'll take a gargantuan effort to force a result.

Having said that, there is a bit in the pitch for the home bowlers this morning - so you never quite know.

    Northants lead by 82 runs.

    Yorkshire 558 v Sussex 313 & 53-0

The 50 partnership has just come up for Sussex's Ali Orr (31 not out) and Tom Haines (19 not out).

Yorkshire are still searching for that opening breakthrough.

    Essex 184-7 v Notts 293

    Nottinghamshire bowlImage source, Rex Features

Nottinghamshire have taken the new ball at Chelmsford as they look to finish off the Essex first innings.

Simon Harmer (15 not out) and Shane Snater (17 not out) have picked up where they left off with some slow scoring.

Essex avoided facing the follow-on yesterday and this one seems destined for a draw.

  10. Postpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Somerset 360 & 323-6 v Hampshire 311

No sign of a deceleration at Taunton.

Somerset lead by 377 after big scores from Captain Tom Abell (98) and Steven Davies (82).

I presume Abell is waiting for George Bartlett, currently 77 not out, to reach his ton before declaring. He's joined in the middle by England's Tom Banton (two not out).

    Gay lbw b Stevens 8 (Northants 10-1)

    Kent celebrateImage source, Rex Features

We have our first wicket of the day.

Emilio Gay made a century in Northants' first innings at Canterbury but comes across his stumps and falls lbw after being struck on the pads off the bowling of Darren Stevens.

Kent declared overnight on 330-5 and Northants have a 72-run lead.

    Yorkshire 558 v Sussex 313 & 38-0

We have a game on our hands in Canterbury after Kent's declaration. I also wouldn't rule out Yorkshire who could force a victory on a deteriorating pitch.

Yesterday Dawid Malan missed out on a double century but his 199 against Sussex at Emerald Headingley was still enough to ease Yorkshire into a strong position.

The Tykes ended day three 207 runs ahead, and need all 10 Sussex second-innings wickets today to win.

  15. Declarationpublished at 10:55 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392

Kent have declared on their overnight total of 330-5, meaning Northamptonshire will start their second innings 62 runs ahead.

The hosts were in a good position to claim two more batting bonus points at Canterbury but appear to want to force the issue a bit, which could spruce things up.

But a draw still seems the most likely result.
