    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392 & 70-4

Conditions are increasingly gloomy at Canterbury with Kent taking a steady flow of wickets in their attempts to make things interesting.

The hosts declared overnight and once again Darren Stevens 2-22 has led the way with the ball to reduce Northants to 70-4.

Northants have a 132-run lead but are playing for time, while Kent seem to be the ones trying to make things happen.

Notts go to lunch on 23-1 in their second innings, with an overall lead of 106 runs.

More routine in Yorkshire as Sussex's Ali Orr (55 not out) and Aaron Thomason (21 not out) survive the last few deliveries.

  4. Wicket and lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Hampshire 30-1 (target 458)

    Oh dear!

In the final over before lunch and Cameron Steel is pinned leg before by a cracking Lewis Gregory delivery.

Steel falls for 14. Somerset need nine more wickets in 66 overs to win.

  5. Postpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

Things have slowed down as we approach lunch.

Don't throw your wickets away in these last few overs lads!

  6. Postpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392 & 60-4

Northants are four down as Gareth Berg is excellently caught by Jordan Cox at first slip.

It's young seamer Nathan Gilchrist with the wicket just before lunch and Adam Rossington is next in for Northants, who lead by 122 runs but find themselves in a spot of bother.

  7. Postpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Yorkshire 558 v Sussex 313 & 99-2

No further joy in this morning session so far for Yorkshire after two earlier wickets.

Sussex opener Ali Orr has reached his maiden first-class century by the way. The 20-year-old reaches his milestone off 139 balls with eight fours.

Aaron Thomason is also unbeaten on 15. The visitors remain 146 runs behind.

  8. Postpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Essex 211 v Notts 293 & 20-1

Back-to-back lbw appeals from Peter Siddle come to nothing but the former Australia seamer is bowling a very decent spell here for Essex.

No need to worry for Notts, whose lead is now 102 runs at Chelmsford.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Compton c A Cook b Siddle 8 (Notts 11-1)

For the second time in the match Nottinghamshire opener Ben Compton edges Peter Siddle to Alastair Cook at slip, and that's him out for eight.

The delivery before from Siddle stayed low which perhaps got into Compton's head, but the ball hadn't been doing much until then.

Notts lead by 93 as Ben Duckett joins Ben Slater at the crease.

  10. Postpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Hampshire 0-0 (target 458)

Ian Holland and Cameron Steel walk out to the crease.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. I don't think Hampshire can win this.

  11. Postpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392 & 51-3

Kent are keeping things tight as they look to keep Northamptonshire under pressure.

It feels like Northants were perhaps wrongfooted by the hosts' decision to declare.

Gareth Berg (16) and Saif Zaib (0) are in the middle for Northants, who will want to take the sting out of the game.

  12. Hampshire need 459 to winpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 6 June 2021
    Breaking

    Somerset 360 & 409-7 dec v Hampshire 311

And now Somerset finally declare. Hampshire need a mammoth 459 runs to win from 75 overs.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    George Bartlett c Vince b Wheal 100 (Somerset 360 & 409-6 v Hampshire 311)

    The very next ball.

A fine innings comes to an end and I reckon that'll be it for the hosts.

Tom Banton is still unbeaten at the other end on 51 by the way.

  14. 100 runs

for George Bartlettpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Somerset 360 & 409-6 v Hampshire 311

He's done it. A single brings up a fifth first-class century for George Bartlett off 160 balls with 11 fours and two sixes.

Hang on, Somerset aren't declaring? We continue.

  15. 50 runs

for Tom Bantonpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Somerset 360 & 408-6 v Hampshire 311

Four and then a huge six as Tom Banton brings his half-century off just 53 balls.

The 400 also comes up for Somerset. Their lead is 457.

  16. Postpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Kent 330-5 dec v Northants 392 & 50-3

Miguel Cummins gets a wicket in his final match for Kent, getting some extra pace and bounce which sees Rob Keogh edge behind for 12.

The catch is taken by Ollie Robinson, who's been great both behind the stumps and with the bat for the hosts.

Northants lead by 112 runs but this is a bit of a baptism of fire.

  17. Postpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Somerset 360 & 393-6 v Hampshire 311

Single. Bartlett on to 99 not out now.

Tom Banton is unbeaten on 40 by the way.

  18. Postpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Somerset 360 & 392-6 v Hampshire 311

A declaration might be around the corner now.

Bartlett strikes two fours and a single off Brad Wheal to move to 98 not out.

  19. Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Somerset 360 & 383-6 v Hampshire 311

George Bartlett moves to 89 not out as he chases his fifth first-class century.

Somerset's lead has now moved to 432, with Tom Banton doing most of the run scoring, moving on to 36 from 49 balls.

I'm a bit surprised Somerset haven't declared yet. Surely 400+ will be enough? Go for the win boys!

  20. Notts begin second inningspublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 6 June 2021

    Essex 211 v Notts 293 & 3-0

Nottinghamshire begin their second inns with a lead of 83, which they've already extended by a further three runs.

Ben Slater and Ben Compton are at the crease with 83 overs remaining as Sam Cook opens the bowling for Essex.
