  1. wicket

WICKET Rhodes c Wells b Parkinson 7published at 14:51 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Lancashire 341 v Warwickshire 371 & 173-5

A piece of magic from Luke Wells spells the end for Will Rhodes.

Matt Parkinson tosses one up and Rhodes goes to drive but gets a firm edge towards slip. From there, Wells dives to his left and takes an outstanding one-handed catch.

A third wicket for Parkinson, but as any top spinner would say, you need sharp close catchers to help you get those victims.

  2. Critchley holds up Middlesex victory chargepublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Derbyshire (205 & 166-6) need 168 more runs to beat Middlesex (282 & 256)

Derbyshire hanging in there against Middlesex.

Matt Critchley reaches a half-century from 112 balls which has included nine fours.

  3. Plenty of company for Mason Cranepublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Hampshire (163 & 104-4) trail Yorkshire (243 & 312-6 dec) by 289 runs

Six close fielders around the bat for Dom Bess as he bowls to Mason Crane.

Crane completely undistrubed though for the meantime as he has 22 off 148 balls with his Herculaean nightwatchman effort.

James Vince alongside him on 8 off 28 balls.

  4. wicket

WICKET Hain c sub b Livingstone 48published at 14:39 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Lancashire 341 v Warwickshire 371 & 169-4

How many times does a rubbish full toss get a wicket? Far too many...

Liam Livingstone throws one up and Sam Hain's eyes light up, but instead of bringing up his 50 with a four, he hits straight to substitute fielder Richard Gleeson at extra cover.

Frustration for Hain, who of course made a fine 118 first time out.

  5. Duke OK to continue after knock on headpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Hampshire (163 & 100-4) trail Yorkshire (243 & 312-6 dec) by 292 runs

Bit of a delay in play at the Ageas Bowl after Yorkshire wicketkeeper Harry Duke is hit on the helmet to a ball that rears up when standing up to the bowling of Steven Patterson.

A quick check over from the physio and a change of helmet gives him the all clear and Yorkshire's pursuit of six more Hampshire wickets continues.

  7. wicket

    WICKET Guest b Roland-Jones 0published at 14:17 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Derbyshire 205 & 147-6 v Middlesex 281 & 256

    Ro JoImage source, Getty Images

Two wickets in two balls for Toby Roland-Jones and Middlesex are on a roll!

Brooke Guest is bowled first ball by the England international to a ball that jags back down the famous slope and has the off stump cartwheeling towards Regent's Park.

Roland-Jones peels away emulating that celebration from his county's epic title win in 2016.

  8. A burst of excitementpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Lancashire 341 v Warwickshire 371 & 150-3

Three fours in three balls for Sam Hain off Danny Lamb. Not sure whether it's a sign of Warwickshire putting their foot on the accelerator or just three balls that begged to be hit for four.

Either way, a welcome burst of excitement.

The lead is 180 and there are a minimum of 56 overs left today.

  9. Middlesex take a fifthpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Derbyshire (205 & 147-5) need 187 more runs to beat Middlesex (282 & 256)

Toby Roland-Jones gets his second wicket in as many overs to reduce Derbyshire to 147-5.

Alex Hughes is caught at second slip by Sam Robson after a bit of juggling.

Five more wickets needed now for the hosts.

  10. Worcestershire and Gloucestershire both two downpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

Couple of wickets fall at New Road and Bristol in the two fourth innings there.

Gloucestershire now 46-2 chasing 266 against Northamptonshire as James Bracey is caught behind for 4.

Worcestershire now 49-2 against Sussex as Tom Fell miscues a pull shot to depart for 4 in their unlikely pursuit of 315.

  11. Andersson acrobatic catch dismisses Godlemanpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Derbyshire (205 & 140-4) need 194 more runs to beat Middlesex (282 & 256

Key scalp for Middlesex at Lord's as former player Billy Godleman is dismissed just as he looked set to lead the chase for Derbyshire.

He tries to steer Toby Roland-Jones behind square on the legside but as it balloons in the air, Martin Andersson runs in from long leg to take a terrific catch diving forward close to the ground and Godleman has to depart for 70.

  12. wicket

WICKET Gubbins c&b Fisher 6published at 14:01 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Hampshire 193 & 86-4 v Yorkshire 243 & 312-6 dec

Big breakthrough for Yorkshire early on after lunch.

Some terrific reactions and contortions from Matthew Fisher have Nick Gubbins caught and bowled.

Gubbins completely misjudges a pull shot off a shorter delivery and skews it up in the air back down the pitch. Fisher has just enough time to adjust in his follow through and claim the catch one-hander going back over his head.

Enter Hampshire skipper James Vince as Mason Crane's resistance continues (16 not out off 118 balls).

  13. wicket

WICKET Sibley b Parkinson 57published at 13:58 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Lancashire 341 v Warwickshire 371 & 129-3

A delivery that deserves a bigger stage than this.

Matt Parkinson bowls Dominic Sibley with a ball that turns sharply around the batsman's legs - that's always great from a leggie.

I'm sure we all saw Shane Warne pull off lots of dismissals like that, usually with Richie Benaud doing the commentary, exclaiming, 'He's bowled him round his legs'.

Anyway, Sibley's stay ends after 168 balls of real hard graft.

  14. To chase or not to chase for Pears?published at 13:54 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Worcestershire (213 & 48-1) need 267 runs to beat Sussex (264 & 263)

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex at New Road

Beautifully set up at New Road although the Sussex declaration, which was delayed as Danial Ibrahim (94) closing in on a century, may have dissuaded Worcesteshire from a potential run chase.

Ibrahim may have a part to play with the ball as well having picked up two wickets in the first innings.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Dominic Sibleypublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Lancashire 341 v Warwickshire 371 & 119-2

Back to the coalface in the Championship and Dom Sibley has brought up his half-century.

It's come off 155 balls and has featured six fours, and it's a good first step on the way to regaining his confidence after his struggles for England against New Zealand and India this summer.

  16. And we're off again...published at 13:44 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

Penultimate session of these fixtures is under way.

Dom Bess opens up with a couple of big appeals for Yorkshire against Hampshire as they go hunting the last seven wickets for a crucial win at the Ageas Bowl.

  17. Watch: England have India three down at lunchpublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    England v India 54-3

Just before we resume for the afternoon session in the County Championship - here's a chance for you to watch the three wickets England have taken so far against India at The Oval.

  18. Godleman holds key against old sidepublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Derbyshire (205 & 127-3) need 207 more runs to beat Middlesex (282 & 256)

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London at Lord's

Former Middlesex batsman Billy Godleman is keeping alive hopes of his side's first Championship win of the season on what looks the best day to bat so far at Lord's.

The Derbyshire captain saw two further wickets fall at the other end as Tom Wood was trapped lbw first ball of the day while Leus du Ploy played on while sweeping.

The oddity of the latter's shot was that it was off Tim Murtagh, who has all three wickets to fall in the innings.

The pitch looks less favourable for the bowlers than on any of the previous three days, but perhaps the lighter overheads are playing a part.

The hosts, who won the toss, will hope the spinners come into it but no great sign of turn so far.

  19. Parkinson's rough luck sees draw odds-onpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 2 September 2021

    Lancashire (341) trail Warwickshire (371 & 115-2) by 145 runs

    Scott Read
BBC Radio Lancashire at Old Trafford

    ParkyImage source, Rex Features

Matt Parkinson could easily have had a couple more wickets on a pitch that is now starting to turn pretty sharply.

One Parkinson delivery pitched outside leg stump, turned across Dom Sibley, missing the bat and the off stump - leaving the Bears batsman smiling back down the pitch at the Lancashire leggie, presumably just pleased to have just survived it.

However with only one wicket to fall in the session, Warwickshire have edged closer to making the game safe and a draw, which looked likely at the close on day one, is very much the favourite now.

  20. England in the wickets before lunchpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 2 September 2021
