    Keith Barker c Rhodes b Norwell 3 (Warwickshire v Hampshire 74-7)

And Hampshire are seven down just before lunch!

A great delivery from Liam Norwell, it swings away and catches Keith Barker's edge.

Will Rhodes catches it in the slips, what a morning session he's had.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:17 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Davies c Kohler-Cadmore b Fisher 15 (Yorkshire v Somerset 86-7)

    Seven down straight after lunch!

Steven Davies wafts at a ball outside off stump from Matthew Fisher and pokes it straight to first slip.

Poor shot from the experienced wicketkeeper, especially with his side under the cosh.

Back under way after lunch in seven of our eight matches.

Wickets tumbled in that first session. More of the same, or better for the batters?

    Let's find out...

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Liam Dawson c Lamb b Rhodes 1 (Warwickshire v Hampshire 51-5)

Another wicket for Warwickshire and another for Will Rhodes.

Liam Dawson tries the cover drive but he mistimes it, skewing the ball to backward-point.

Not a great shot in the circumstances.

  6. 'Somerset title hopes disappearing'published at 12:55 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Yorkshire v Somerset 77-6 - lunch, day one

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Somerset

That sound of running water you can hear is Somerset's hopes of a first ever county championship disappearing down the plug-hole.

Tom Abell was nothing if not bullish at the start, electing to bat on a typically lively Scarborough wicket and then opening the innings himself.

But his confidence has proved hubristic as Somerset's fragile batting has once again crumbled, as Yorkshire's bowlers have ruthlessly exploited the bounce and movement on offer with only Azhar Ali and James Hildreth offering much resistance.

  7. Glamorgan collapsepublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Durham v Glamorgan 85-6 - lunch, day one

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Despite taking an early wicket there wasn't much doing for a long period after that for the Durham bowlers.

In fact for a while it looked like it might not have been a good toss to win. However, Chris Rushworth then broke the partnership of Hamish Rutherford and Nick Selman, after the two had put on 54 runs for the second wicket.

Glamorgan slipped from 63-1 to 85-6 at lunch. Rushworth has taken three wickets and needs one more for 50 in the championship this season. Paul Coughlin, who is playing for the first time since 17 June, has also picked up a couple of wickets in a double wicket maiden.

He got skipper Chris Cooke lbw for 3 and Dan Douthwaite for a third ball duck, losing his middle stump as he tried to leave a ball beyond off stump. It was a bad leave!

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Ian Holland c Yates b Holder 28 (Warwickshire v Hampshire 48-4)

It's not looking good for Hampshire as Ian Holland edges to first slip.

It's also a first Warwickshire wicket for Chemar Holder who sprints away in celebration.

Liam Dawson joins James Vince out in the middle who's yet to score.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Nick Gubbins c Briggs b Rhodes 0 (Hampshire 44-3)

    One brings two!

Warwickshire's Will Rhodes has his second from probably his worst delivery of the day.

It's wide and short but Nick Gubbins doesn't get over the half-volley, slicing it high to backward-point.

An easy catch for Danny Briggs. James Vince is the new man in for Hampshire.

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Another two wickets for Essex as Simon Harmer gets in on the act with two quick dismissals. Gloucestershire are now 76-9 off 27 overs.

Elsewhere, Durham have taken another scalp to reduce Glamorgan to 85-6.

And Surrey have also lost another, they're on 61-4 at Northamptonshire as we prepare for the final over before lunch.

  12. Postpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Games are beginning to go to lunch now, except at Edgbaston where they'll take the interval at 13:45 BST after that Covid-related delay.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Tom Alsop c Burgess b Rhodes 15 (Hampshire 44-2)

And speaking of Edgbaston, we've got another wicket.

Just as I was about to publish an entry on Hampshire digging in well, Will Rhodes makes the breakthrough as the ball swings away just enough to catch Tom Alsop's outside edge.

Easy catch for Michael Burgess and it's advantage Warwickshire again.

  14. Postpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

10 minutes to go until lunch (except at Edgbaston).

    Key period.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Banton c Duke b Thompson 0 (Yorkshire v Somerset 68-6)

    Wow.

Tom Banton is gone first ball, edging Jordan Thompson behind!

Three wickets in seven balls for Yorkshire. Ben Green survives the hat-trick delivery but Somerset's first innings is in tatters.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Ali b Thompson 24 (Yorkshire v Somerset 68-5)

I just said it had been an excellent morning for Yorkshire... let's upgrade that to outstanding.

Azhar Ali tries to leave a straight one from Jordan Thompson and the ball clatters into the top of off stump.

The Pakistan batsman is on his way for 24.

  17. Postpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    ANOTHER wicket at Scarborough...

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Bartlett c Duke b Hill 4 (Yorkshire v Somerset 68-4)

This is now turning into an excellent morning session for Yorkshire.

George Bartlett prods at one outside off stump from George Hill and feathers the ball through to the keeper.

Steven Davies joins Azhar Ali at the crease. 15 minutes until lunch.

  19. Division Two updatepublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Let's take a quick look at Division Two.

Gloucestershire are still struggling at Essex, they're now 70-7 off just 22 overs.

Glamorgan are also finding it tough at Chester-le-Street, it's advantage Durham who have reduced the visitors to 75-4.

Surrey are doing a little better with the bat, but only just. They're on 48-3 away to Northamptonshire.

  20. 50 runs

for Ben Duckettpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Nottinghamshire 79-1 v Lancashire

Brilliant from Ben Duckett who reaches his 50 off 69 balls with eight fours.

I make that 29 first-class half-centuries for the one-time England man to go with 19 centuries.

Sam Northeast is looking steady at the other end, he's on 16 from 48.
