  12. Gatting & Langer record brokenpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Sussex v Middlesex 373-0

The records keep on coming at Hove!

Mark Stoneman and Sam Robson have now shared Middlesex's highest first-wicket partnership of all time.

It beats the 372 put on by Mike Gatting and Justin Langer against Essex at Southgate in 1998.

Robson has 180, Stoneman 172. Incredible batting.

  13. Race to 1,000 runs alivepublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Durham 503-8 dec v Glamorgan 97 & 27-1

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Worcestershire's Jake Libby was out for 23 in their second innings against Kent today. So the race to 1,000 Championship runs remains alive.

Libby needs another 24 to be the first player to get there, while Durham's David Bedingham needs eight after he was dismissed for 47 earlier today.

Libby has played in one more game and had two more knocks than Bedingham and that's the way it may stay after this week because Bedingham may not have to bat again in the match with Glamorgan.

Durham declared their first innings on 503-8, with five players making half centuries. But crucially they had a massive lead of 406. And since Glamorgan were all out for just 97 in their first innings - and dismissed cheaply in their two innings against Essex the last time out - it's unlikely Bedingham will be needed again.

They have already lost a wicket with David Lloyd caught in the gully for six by Liam Trevaskis off Matty Potts. They are now 27-1.

  14. 500th wicket for Wrightpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Derbyshire 18-1 v Leicestershire 528

Leicestershire seamer Chris Wright has just removed Derbyshire opener Tom Wood for his 500th first-class wicket.

And Surrey are continuing to build in their second innings. The hosts are 45-1, giving them a 126-run lead over Northamptonshire.
