    Brook c Abell b Green 118 (Yorkshire 230-7 v Somerset 134)

    There's the wicket Somerset wanted!

Harry Brook's fantastic innings comes to an end as he flashes Ben Green to slip where Tom Abell takes a fine diving catch.

His 118 has put Yorkshire in command at North Marine Road.

    Alsop st Burgess b Briggs 33 (Warwickshire 116 v Hampshire 89 & 137-4)

    Outfoxed.

The first time Tom Alsop comes down the ground to spinner Danny Briggs and he missed it.

A smart stumping from Michael Briggs pegs Hampshire back again.

Alsop was just too impatient then. The lead is 110.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Vilas lbw b Hutton 15 (Notts 272 v Lancashire 124-7)

    That's the five-for.

Dane Vilas is out leg before not playing a shot.

He won't want to see the replay for this one, shouldn't be leaving a ball on that line.

Nottinghamshire in total control as Brett Hutton moves on to figures of 5-50.

  5. Postpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Yorkshire 230-6 v Somerset 134

Harry Brook will definitely want to cash in against that depleted Somerset pace attack this afternoon.

He's now just six short from his first-class best of 124.

  6. 'Brook gets his revenge'published at 13:13 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Yorkshire 229-6 v Somerset 134

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Somerset

The last time Harry Brook faced a Somerset seam bowler at Scarborough, he gloved a vicious lifter from Craig Overton to Steve Davies and was out for nought.

This morning, he had his revenge, moving smoothly from his overnight 79 to a fourth first-class century, with only the unlucky Josh Davey among the under-strength Somerset seam attack offering much of a threat.

Looking forward to their second innings, the thought that Somerset will be clinging to is that batting is looking a lot easier today than it did when they were bowled out yesterday.

    Warwickshire 116 v Hampshire 89 & 123-3

At Edgbaston, James Vince strikes the third ball after lunch back down the pitch for four.

    Lovely.

Players are walking back out across the country.

Afternoon sessions are about to get under way.

  9. 'Durham dominant'published at 13:01

    Durham 332-5 v Glamorgan 97 - lunch, day two

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Yet another session dominated by Durham as they moved relentlessly to a lead of 235 over Glamorgan with time to reach maximum batting points, needing only 68 off 20 overs.

David Bedingham fell 11 runs short of his thousand for the season when he was yorked for 47 by Michael Hogan early on.

But Sean Dickson, batting with a runner after picking up a leg injury, seemed unhindered as he added 81 with Ned Eckersley against the old ball.

Hogan returned with the new cherry to york Dickson for 46 but Eckersley suffered few alarms as he reached his half-century off 68 deliveries, and Glamorgan are going to have to show a dramatic improvement in batting form if they are to salvage even a vestige of pride from this one-sided game.

  10. 'Perfect morning for Middlesex'published at 13:00 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

Sussex v Middlesex 134-0 - lunch, day one

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London

A perfect morning for Middlesex on the south coast as they won the toss under a near cloudless skies and have seen their new opening pair steer their way to Lunch unbeaten.

Mark Stoneman was snared for a pair on his debut at Lord's last week after his move from Surrey, but he and his fellow former England Test batsman Sam Robson have dominated a youth Sussex attack Hove to both reach half centuries.

The pitch looks not only flat but slow although both batsman have scored at a rapid rate - perhaps more a reflection of the hosts' attacking lines and length to begin with that saw the scoring rate hit 6 after the first 15 overs.

The struggle to wrestle back control is a concern and, unless a couple of wickets are found quickly after the interval, it could be a long day in the dirt for Sussex.

  11. 'Hutton leads the way'published at 12:51 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Notts 272 v Lancashire 111-6 - lunch, day two

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Brett Hutton has led the way for Nottinghamshire with the ball in a good morning session for the home side.

He's got just enough seam movement to cause problems, combined with consistent good line and length and his reward has been four wickets in the innings so far.

With the final ball of the morning session, he claimed his 4th pole, with the dismissal of Rob Jones and it feels like it could be vital dismissal.

Lancashire still trail by 161 runs as the Red Rose try to get close to Nottinghamshire's first innings total.

  13. Postpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

That felt like more of a session for the batsmen.

Let's look at the lunchtime scores with all eight games at the interval...

  14. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Warwickshire 116 v Hants 89 & 119-3

Even with three wickets I'd say this is still Hampshire's session.

They lead by 92 at the break, with Craig Miles on 12 and Danny Briggs unbeaten on eight.

  15. Lunch at Scarboroughpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Yorkshire 229-6 v Somerset 134

    Yorkshire's session.

Harry Brook has once again looked hugely assured and goes to lunch on 117.

The lead is 95 with more to come after the interval.

Somerset need to wrap things up quickly in the afternoon session but it won't be easy.

  16. wicket

WICKET and Lunchpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Jones c Northeast b Hutton 14 (Nottinghamshire 272 v Lancashire 111-6)

What a way to end the session as Brett Hutton collects his fourth wicket, finding Rob Jones' edge.

Not much the batsman could have done, that was a cracking delivery.

And it was a Nelson too.

    That'll be lunch.

  17. Postpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Yorkshire 225-6 v Somerset 134

    Lovely batting!

Somerset spinner Jack Leach overpitches and Harry Brook whips him through mid-wicket for his 18th boundary.

The 22-year-old is up to 117.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Gubbins c Rhodes b Briggs 5 (Warwickshire 116 v Hants 89 & 116-3)

    Right before lunch!

Spinner Dany Briggs finds a foothole but this one is poor batting rather than good bowling.

Nick Gubbins tries a risky cut but ends up just tapping the ball to Will Rhodes at slip.

Slightly more bounce on the ball than he was expecting, but that was a gift.

  19. Postpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Yorkshire 217-6 v Somerset 134

Yorkshire's advantage continues to grow. 83 and four wickets to play with.

Judging by Somerset's first-innings efforts with the bat they might already be out of sight.

  20. Division Three updatepublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Sam BillingsImage source, Rex Features

Middlesex are flying on the opening morning at Sussex. Openers Sam Robson and Mark Stoneman have both hit half-centuries to take their side to 117-0.

Leicestershire's Lewis Hill has been dismissed for 113, but the Foxes are still in prime position against Derbyshire at 349-5.

Kent are motoring against Worcestershire. They're 262-5 and lead by 128 with Jack Leaning (77 not out) and Sam Billings (39 not out) going along nicely.
