Sibley 51 Pope 5
Does this fifty secure Dom Sibley's place in the England team for a while longer? He was under pressure coming into this.
The teams can shake hands at the end of the next over if they want.
Sibley 50, Pope 4
Devon Conway is practising his putting stroke. Ollie Robinson, not in his whites, is sat on the balcony. We await news from the ECB as to whether he will receive punishment for his racist and sexist tweets.
There may just be two overs to go.

Erik in California: I’m an ex pat living in America. Invited several of my friends over to introduce them to cricket, promising an exciting ending. Instead we get this monstrosity. You’ve lost them for life England and I look like a mug. Thanks for nothing.

There are people on their feet, I tell you, around the ground! They have been desperate to cheer something.
Finally, finally Dom Sibley gets his fifty. He looks a little sheepish as he raises his bat.
There are members of the England team clapping with their hands high above their hand on the balcony. Sibley's team-mates are happy with his knock.
New Zealand are even bringing Tim Southee back. They have 19 overs to get seven wickets.

What a ball to get first up!
Ollie Pope is beaten by a beauty first up. Maybe the teams won't be shaking hands in four overs time. New Zealand just have a spring in their step.

That is very, very out. It looked out at first glance.
Root lbw Wagner 40 (Eng 136-3)
It's plumb and Joe Root is furious with himself. He barks in frustration on his way off. Neil Wagner found a bit of swing and it got him the lbw.

Unless Root has got an inside edge on this, it feels quite out.
Joe Root is given out lbw! He reviews but it looked out to me.
Mitchell Santner hasn't bowled very well...

It always feels disappointing when a game peters out into a draw. It will be the third consecutive drawn Test in England.
Joe Root sweeps twice for four to cries of "Rooooot". One of them was another full toss from Santner.
This increased aggression from England is doing little for my argument that England had no hope of getting these runs.
The groundsman and his foothole basher gets a standing ovation from a few members of this restless crowd.

I would think Ollie Robinson would miss out at Edgbaston with some disciplinary action. I think it's the right decision. Potentially Olly Stone will come in for Mark Wood and Jack Leach will come in. It wouldn't surprise me, either, if Craig Overton played for one of Broad or Anderson.
