Are we going to see a big turnaround, Michael?

Sibley 40, Root 4
That over was practically a Oscar-winning thriller compared to the others with Sibley following his boundary with a two. Sibley's strike-rate is actually twice as high as his captain's for all the criticism he's getting.

Listen to the rapturous applause!
The first ball after drinks is driven for four by Dom Sibley to wild cheers!
This drinks break is almost as entertaining as the cricket.
These are the two wickets to fall in this innings...
Has anyone got any exciting evening plans?
The fact De Grandhomme and Santner are bowling does at least mean we'll get to the point the players can shake hands with 15 overs to go quicker.

Ben: Embarrassing attitude from England. Just watched 45 minutes with my 11-year-old... so negative. How can we expect kids to get engaged with the game? Great declaration New Zealand, apologies from all English cricket fans.
Target 273
Three leg-byes, one single. That's all I have to say.

Sibley 30, Root 4
I may be giving England the benefit of the doubt but there's a fair bit of grumbling on TMS. I think I'll be seeing that groping Sibley forward defensive stroke when I close my eyes to sleep tonight.

It's boring, yes, but I'm still not sure what else England could have done. A full day was lost to rain remember.
Santner returns and finds some spin which does at least give me something of note to say.

This is a miserably timorous performance by England. 67-2 off 40 - their second lowest score after 40 overs in the last 20 years.
Target 273
Colin de Grandhomme is back into the attack and, with BJ Watling standing up the stumps, it only adds to the snoozy feel. If a doctor is clever enough to record this they may be able to prescribe it instead of sleeping tablets.

Those flats at third man and deep extra cover, can the cricket be seen from them?
Target 273
This remains the most exciting moment on the day.

Will it go for four?! No, no it won't. He gets a three and the crowd can hardly believe it.
