Now Wagner has asked for the groundstaff to come on and work for on the footholes. His professionalism is admirable but, come on, read the room.

Sibley 49, Root 29
Sibley shakes his head after missing full balls from Neil Wagner twice in a row. He remains stuck on 49.
Wagner really hasn't got the memo about putting us out of our misery. He oversteps twice in the over resulting in two no-balls.

Was not looking forward to choosing between a thrilling end to the Test match and the England-Romania game. Have now turned over to the football. Cricket played like this does nothing for Test match cricket and will be the death of the format. Should have been a fantastic day thanks to New Zealand being so generous. Well done England cricket. Not.

This has been as good as it has got since tea.

Imagine slagging Sibley off for playing like the opener England have dreamed about for about 5 seasons. Insanely fickle.

Mitchell Santner may have cut his finger. He's heading off the field.

In the last half hour, England have just started to show some energy. I know they've had some bad balls, but where was that a few hours ago? A few singles, just showing a bit of willing...
A full toss from Santner is slapped away to the fence. Rubbish from New Zealand's spinner.
England's scoring rate has jumped massively in the last few overs.
The teams can shake hands after 60 overs - eight overs time.

The crowd love Neil Wagner wherever he plays. He's a wholehearted cricketer.
Sibley 47, Root 18
One guy is out of his seat at fine leg to give Neil Wagner a standing ovation for a bit of fielding. They're doing their best to entertain themselves down there.
I've put the football on another screen. It's not much better.
Kane Williamson brings himself on for a bowl. We really are struggling.
Target 273
The talk on TMS has moved onto brown fence paint. That says it all.
Michael Vaughan has just called Simon Mann "quite a boring human being" which made me actually laugh out loud.
Sibley has hit three fours in this 140-ball innings. This was one of them...
Is it really? I'm not sure.

Jenifer Moore: This is going to feel like a defeat not a draw.
Target 273
The England balcony is looking unflustered. Stuart Broad is there, staring into space. I can't see many of the other players. I wonder if they're taking the opportunity to catch up on some sleep.
Root fiddles a four down through gully to take England beyond 100.

Dom Sibley in the past 20 minutes has looked a little busier. My point is, why couldn't he have been like this two hours ago? For him to have a long Test match career, he will have to bring something more than what we've seen so far.
Sibley 43, Root 10
Santner is actually bowling some rubbish. A horrible wide ball goes for a couple of byes.
I might sort the dishwasher to save me from having to do it later.

There's a bit of lack of confidence from the winter coming into play here. They don't want to lose four on the trot.
Sibley 40, Root 10
Root more than doubled his scoring in that over. 28 overs remain unless the players shake hand beforehand.
