It wouldn't surprise me at some stage in the next few days if Stuart Broad has one of those spells, with the crowd singing. He just loves this environment.

Flint(off) and Gravel(ny). Desperate stuff. Apologies.
Jezza, London
Tom Latham leaves well on length to one that jagged back in at him sharply.
A misfield from Olly Stone at square leg then allow Latham to scamper a single. He even brought out the long barrier but missed it with his hands and it glanced away off his leg.

What a shot that is. It is perfection and brilliant balance.
Shot! Textbook that from Tom Latham - poise, timing, balance all in order and a great straight drive down the ground for four.

Much better line from Broad as Conway inside edges it away.
Conway sees off the rest of the over.

The ball hasn't done a great deal yet.
Wrong line again from Broad and Conway tucks it round the corner for two.
England really cannot allow him to settle early.
Broad starts round the wicket to Conway but it's too straight and the New Zealand opener clips it crisply through mid-wicket for four.
Cracking way to start your innings that.
Stuart Broad will open up alongside James Anderson. You've heard that before.

Very definite instructions to the England team from Joe Root. Players called for a huddle, big hand gestures, two or three key messages delivered.

James Anderson has now bowled 5,765 overs in Test cricket. This is the 300th innings he has bowled in and he's taken 616 wickets and averages 26.58.
Latham 1, Conway 1
Devon Conway - a double centurion on debut at Lord's - defends his first ball.
He leaves the second on line, before also getting off the mark as the left-hander pushes into the off side and takes a quick single.
Swing for James Anderson but he starts an outswinger wider and it goes even wider. James Bracey does well to take it.
The third ball is on the pads and Tom Latham tucks it away for a single to get his side off the mark.

It is almost like England have had the remote control on the clouds. It won't be easy.
It is a good pitch. We saw Mark Wood play three or four glorious shots. It'll do a bit, but as a batter you'd be surprised it didn't for Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad in these conditions. But if you get in it is a good pitch.

Angled across, Latham easily leaves.

England would definitely have taken that this morning.
This is a nice hour as a bowling team because with four bowlers you won't bowl a massive amount. It'll be a big hour for England.
