Arjun: So, so predictable. I just said to my wife, “watch this, we’re about to lose a wicket”. Sure enough, Burns obliges...
Fred: The difference between the sides in this match has been highlighted by Burns’ wicket - NZ takes the chances, England doesn’t!
Dom Sibley pushes through the leg side for three.
Zak Crawley pushes through the off side for three.
Guess which side of the pitch they prefer?

It's an important wicket to take early on, when the lead isn't what New Zealand could have had.

Zak Crawley tucks it square to get off the mark with a single.
Dom Sibley joins him on one by tucking behind square too.
ENGLAND HAVE MORE RUNS THAN WICKETS.
It's the little victories.
It feels like this New Zealand side has never dropped a slip catch.
A team full of people capable of emulating David Seaman's save on Paul Peschisolido, so safe are their hands.

Rory Burns was out before the Hollies had finished singing Jerusalem.

Latham felt that that ball wouldn't have carried to first slip, so he took responsibility himself.
Burns c Latham b Henry 0 (Eng 0-1)
Should've left that one as well.
It's a tempter from Matt Henry, but hardly a unplayable ball and Rory Burns unfurls a drive far too early.
The result is a healthy nick and Tom Latham shows superb hands to dive across from second slip and take it front of first slip.
Excellent judgement there - that may well have dropped short of first slip. Oh, England.
Matt Henry opens up with a ball that angles across and Rory Burns can easily leave it.

We are halfway through the match.
Rory Burns and Dom Sibley stride to the middle. Burns takes his guard.

It's an interesting period of play before England can start feeling comfortable again. New Zealand have earned a session.

England managed to go through New Zealand really with some high-class bowling. It gives England a glimmer. If they go and get 300 to 320 it will be asking New Zealand to chase something tricky.
There is always a concern with this batting line-up that England will be four or five down by the time they pass that deficit, though.
That started well and went downhill quickly Richard.
Much like England in the first innings.

Richard Harris: Sibley to bat for 4 sessions, 25 runs and we get bowled out for 150.
England openers Rory Burns and Dom Sibley will have a tricky half hour to negotiate before tea.
They put on 72 in the first innings. Something similar would be very welcome for England here.

Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
England have been very, very good since lunch. They will be delighted that they are only facing an 85-run deficit because it always looked like it was going to be over 100 with the way that New Zealand were batting.
