    Andy Zaltzman
    Test Match Special statistician

There have been five scores in the eighties in this game. It equals the record from any Test match, alongside England-Australia at Old Trafford in 1968 and Australia-South Africa at the SCG in 1964.

  2. NZ 330-5published at 104 overs

    Anderson's search goes on.

Tight line and length as ever, just a couple from the over.

Could be one of the most unpopular opinions voiced on this live text there, Joe.

James Anderson steams in. Can he finally pick up a wicket?

Joe D: This may not be popular - but are England really still best served by two bowlers Broad and Anderson, who turn 35 and 39 years old respectively in the next few weeks?

  5. NZ 328-5published at 103 overs

    Lead by 25

Olly Stone starts with a decent over after lunch, just two singles from it.

England will be aiming to keep the lead below 70 or 80.

If New Zealand bat the session there will be over 100 and it will be hard for England to fight back from there. It's not impossible at all. The one thing for England is that the pitch doesn't change too much here.

This really is a crucial session now.

New Zealand have a longer tail than at Lord's so if England get a couple of wickets they could make inroads pretty quickly.

England will look to bowl much tighter to Tom Blundell, who will soon resume on 24 not out.

Daryl Mitchell is unbeaten on three.

I have that same style blue plastic cup at home after a Roses T20.

I do not have either the dress or wig. Or the willingness to do this fancy dress.

And these two snaffles, especially the latter, should hopefully boost Bracey's confidence...

  13. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 12 June 2021

I freely admit I've not seen James Bracey play for Gloucestershire much at all.

His keeping has not been up to scratch in this Test and two ducks in two innings is...yeah.

Keepers can improve very quickly though and hopefully his involvement in an international set-up will help that acceleration (not saying that Gloucestershire won't be helping there either of course).

India's Rishabh Pant looked a vastly better keeper by the end of that series earlier this year than at the start.

Paul Severn: Sad to see James Bracey have a tough time. Sport is great but it can also be very cruel too. Really hope he makes runs in the second innings.

All-rounder Chris Woakes returns to the England Twenty20 squad for the first time since 2015 for three matches against Sri Lanka this month.

Yorkshire seamer David Willey also features in a 16-man squad, having last played a T20 for England in May 2019.
