    Much to ponder for Yorkshire.

Hauling in the boundaries a long way in from their usual spots.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat.

    And fielding appallingly.

41 from 19 balls they had to defend but they couldn't stop Rashid Khan.

What a gem from Rashid Khan - 27 not out from just nine balls.

It's his knock that's won the game in the end.

Sussex got a great start from Luke Wright's 54 but Yorkshire dragged it back and were favourites before the blast from Khan.

  9. Sussex need 4 from 3 ballspublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

Matt Fisher goes for the yorker and misses down leg.

    But no wide!

Umpire must have thought there was a pad!

    ...there wasn't!

Length again, this is pushed to backward point on the edge of the circle.

  11. Sussex need 5 from 5 ballspublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

Length ball swung to deep midwicket.

    Rashid Khan back on strike.

  12. Sussex need 6 from 6 ballspublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

    What can Yorkshire do now?

Matt Fisher with the final over but only six to defend.

Lower wickets wins a tie by the way.

    Sussex 172-5 (19 overs) - need 6 from 6 balls

David Willey with the penultimate over.

Rashid Khan gets a thick inside edge past short-fine leg for four.

And then absolutely hammers one past deep cover for another boundary. My word did that travel.

    And then, and then...

Stands outside off stump and paddles a full toss to the backward square fence! Amazing.

A narrow leg side wide worsens Willey's mood.

Has that burst just won the game?

  14. Postpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

    Sussex 156-5 (18 overs) - need 22 in 12 balls.

That wicket makes it a decent one in Jordan Thompson's last over. Throws in a leg side wide.

And then Rashid Khan plays an outrageous smash down the ground for a six that doesn't need boundaries!

He skips down and whips his hands through the ball to send it into the sightscreen.

David Wiese tries to go to the leg side fence and almost carries one to deep square, gets two for it, then squeezes two more past short-fine leg before holing out.

    Sussex 156-5 need 22 in 12 balls

David Wiese tries to take the last ball of the over down the ground and get nowhere near enough on it.

Easy catch for Adam Lyth at long-on.

  16. Postpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

    Sussex 143-4 (17 overs) - need 35 in 18 balls

It was almost a wonderful over but Rashid Khan whacks the last ball of the over beyond a brave effort at deep cover.

    It keeps Sussex going here.

  17. wicket

WICKET Rawlins b Fisher 27published at 21:14 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

    Sussex 135-4 need 43 in 22 balls

Matt Fisher hits his man in the midriff first ball.

Delray Rawlins has another swing second ball, misses again and loses the top of his middle stump.

  18. Postpublished at 21:12 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

    Sussex 134-3 (16 overs) 44 need 24 balls

Adil Rashid's last over and Delray Rawlins bottom-edges through the wicketkeeper's legs for two and then cannons one off the non-striker's stumps out into the covers for another couple.

Rawlins has a leg side swing and gets an whirl of an edge to short-third man.

It's Matthew Waite again - and it's gone down again! Very poor work.

And add to it a complete miss at deep square by Will Fraine that leaks a boundary.

That's a great over for Sussex in the end.

  19. Postpublished at 21:08 British Summer Time 24 August 2021

    Sussex 122-3 (15 overs) need 56 in 30 balls

David Willey is back and Delray Rawlins pulls him only as far as deep square for a single.

David Wiese has a swing and a miss.

But then goes across his stumps to paddle sweep over fine leg.

Excellent touch and a much-needed maximum.

At the same stage, Yorkshire were 106-3. Sussex are 114-3, so that comparison is now really squeezed. You can feel the tension in the ground. This game is right in the balance."
